I can actually hear the F0 for the first time ever here, that scale length plus that large string gauge really makes the difference.
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the distortion from the amp sims helps to add extra harmonics and bring out the overtones so you can hear that F.

Oh man that sounds so good!

Great video Gary. That bass sounds amazing man. Loving the sound of the mix of all the instruments in the play through.

You are a mad man .170 is unreal!! It sounds fantastic though, your demo track was really tight 🤘
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah am really enjoying this bass. And with the scale length and tension that 170 really doesn't feel that thick
@tallciaran2 жыл бұрын
kaliam guitar strings do a 266 gauge string as their thickest

Awesome mate! I can feel the stokedness! Total Dingwall slayer right there, if the price is right. Sounds great too, really like the tone in the mix, perfectly gnarly and blends in nicely with the guitars in the mids. Well done!
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks KYRO! Yeah was trying to get as close to a Dingwall as could.

Fuck me, that's a beauty! Awesome! I like that it is made to go with a standard body!

@@GaryHiebner Mate can we hear that Doomtrunk in any more songs anywhere?
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
What the long bass? Yeah I got a new video coming out soon where gonna play it in F0 and F1 and compare. I'm also working on an EP that is gonna have this bass ALL over it. So stay tuned for news on that...

Neck dive looks like it would be nuts. Amazing build tho
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
Its very slight neck dive. Not as bad as you'd think. Luckily its mainly a studio instrument and I use it sitting down

Nice mod for people who want a multiscale but love their normal scale basses
@johnsguitarmusicanddemos2 жыл бұрын
That is a sick bass tone! I love it!
@thedroptuner14482 жыл бұрын
Do you think you could demo it in a couple tunings like G, F#, and E? I'm just curious how the scale lengthwould respond to higher or lower tunings.
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I might do that in future videos. I did try it in G Std and it worked really well.

Most btbs are fitted for bartolinis but since this bass looks like it could fit some emgs or Seymour’s or whatever pickups that would fit in it, try those instead playing the stock pickups to give you some different sounds and as far as the pre amp I think a dark glass preamp would go well with this bass.
@GaryHiebner2 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats exactly what I'm thinking. Getting some Seymour Soapbars and a Dark Glass Preamp

I am desperately trying to find someone to make me a 37” conversion neck for my Fender Jazz Bass, and I am having zero luck. Anyone have any suggestions?
@GaryHiebner Жыл бұрын
Best is to find a luthier near you so you can test the feel of the neck during the build process. Luckily my luthier was 30min away from me so I could go visit and see the build process. But guess that is not always possible.
