Here in Brazil, where beans are a staple food, what families usually do is cook beans in a pressure cooker and leave it unseasoned in the refrigerator. Then, when it's close to lunch or dinner time, the person cooking will sauté some onion, garlic and whatever else you might want to put in your beans, cook it for a few minutes, adjust seasoning, and you'll have fresh tasting beans (Brazilian style) in just a few minutes. Since Brazilians eat beans every day, it won't be sitting for too long in the refrigerator.

IN THE SPANISH CARIBBEAN ISLANDS -CUBA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC & PUERTO RICO WE COOK THEM SIMILAR. THE OLD FASHION WAY WITHOUT THE PRESSURE COOKER IS TO SOAK THEM OVERNIGHT IN WATER & SALT, NEXT DAY THROWS THE WATER AWAY AND START COOKING THEM. IN THE MEANTIME MAKE THE SOFRITO- SAUTE GARLIC, ONIONS, SMALL PEPPERS, ALONG WITH CILANTRO, CORIANDER & ORÉGANO AND ADD IT TO THE BEANS WHILE THEY COOK AT MEDIUM HEAT. MANY TIMES ALONG WITH PIECES OF PUMPKIN WHICH GIVE BEANS A SPECIAL FLAVOR. AND VOILÁ, BON APETITE!😋 🌺☮️💟🌺 PS. SOME CARNIVORES LIKE TO ADD PORK MEAT😡

Hi Dr.Williams Question for you… I have a few strange food sensitives that give me so much intense pain & bloating in the upper middle section of my abdomen that starts right under my breasts to just below my ribs if I eat broccoli, mushrooms, pineapple & muscles all 4 of those foods make me really sick. The pain & sever bloating lasts a few hours & sometime for up to 6 hours. Do have any insight on why this would happen with these particular foods ?

I’ll share that I read the book Eat to Beat Disease & Eat to Beat Your Diet by Dr William Li. It doesn’t explicitly say to only eat whole food in the book, but that’s what I chose to do. I went from about 215 lbs to 180 lbs in 6 months. So nothing insanely wild, but I’ve had so much more energy & have had lower cortisol levels since doing that. I just started focusing on what I would eat that came from lists of the foods that help the 5 different health defenses in the body. Thank you Dr Li. Genuinely appreciative for the info. Once I got past the first little bit of my brain (and microbiome) asking for sugary foods it became super easy. Definitely wasn’t easy to get past that portion but keeping full on whole food helped for anyone who wants to try it.

Love Dr. Li, please watch the whole video, but here are the five for ya, please add to your diet regularly 1. CARROTS - roast them, shred them and squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice on them for a sweet and sour salad treat, or throw them in a stew, put in a veggie stir fry 2. BEANS - in a soup, make some hummus or bean dip, high in fiber and protein, navy beans or white beans best 3. CHILLI PEPPERS - hot sauce, sautéed in stir fry, throw in a soup, sprinkled on a pizza pie 4. MUSHROOMS - eat the whole thing, sauté, add to steak, into a soup, slice and put on a pizza pie, add to stir fry so good, high in vitamin D 5. PU-ERH TEA - fermented black tea from China, drink it yo THANK YOU!!

The problems you're having did not develop overnight. It was a slow accumulative process that finally got to the point of being noticable. Trying to reverse your condition works the same way. You are not going to change what took years to develop overnight. It will take time. How often do you eat the beneficial foods? Once a month, once a week, daily? And how much do you consume? Eating an obligatory sprinkle or adding a cup of fresh or a drained can full to whatever at least 3 times a week? Mushrooms contain a lot of trace minerals not found in any vitamin pill. And remember, prevention is always easier than curing. Not all damage can be undone. But you can can prevent further damage.

Bone broth is super delicious. Some call it soup stock. I use low sodium version & do not add salt.

You can take a couple of slippery Elm capsules with the spicy peppers (I use cayenne pepper) to help lessen or eliminate the burning "coming out". Worked well for me.
