@@Uespenox I saw in an interview once that when the person in charge of hiring saw two applicants with a similar skill level and was interested in hiring them they would be more inclined to reach out to the one without a degree because it showed that you managed to learn as much as the one with a degree on your own. so don't be too bummed about not having a degree because it is very impressive to see someone achieve the same level without instruction

It’s super cool how you have a style while painting and drawing and you can explain how they all relate back to you in those art pieces, I honestly didn’t get all the messages when I looked at the pieces at first but I really understood how they’re mirrors to yourself when you explained them!

Almost all the places I'm planing on applying for only want 10 artworks and a portfolio sketchbook, so I've been struggling to figure out what to add and what to take away lol.

in my country we just need minimum 5 credits for government universities and 3 credits to get into private universities, yeah government universities in my country quite strict they also ask your portfolio and recording your art process, but for private universities they don't ask much, just 3 size 4a portrait drawing or what ever you want to draw that's all

I wanted to become an illustrator someday and assembling a portfolio is taking to much of my time🥲 I wanted to ask a few things to clarify with ur tips 1. Does assembling a portfolio requires in making art YOU'RE GOOD AT?or it needs to have a variety of arts(painting, sketching etc.) No matter what you're mastering in. 2. Sticking to one style(own style; cartoony or real life) 3. How many examples should you put in your portfolio?

1. personally think you should showcase your skills in versatility so maybe try different things and put your best pieces! 2. Being able to do different styles is good but having a recognizable style is also beneficial 3. I live in the US (don’t know is it’s different for other people) I would say 6 - 24 12 or 24 is preferable sorry I’m so later 💜
