My Alex Van Halen drum auction purchase... WOAH!!!

I won his Ludwig Super Sensitive snare from 1998 tour. Has B sticker. Was rotated in concert I guess. I wish he has signed it also but the letter of authenticity was cool. I got pair sticks, two back stage passes and t shirt as well as freebies. I’m currently playing it in my kit. I may retire it soon though and make cool display with the letter. I also won signed drum head that’s going on my wall and I won his Ludwig Atlas double bass pedals he used to warm up in dressing rooms it said. I’m currently playing them in my kit too. Love them! The settings and tension are perfect for me.

alex has been donating drum gear for charities for a long time, perhaps that's why some tour kits were missing from the auction. around 1993 i went with my old boss to the VH storage units to load up some old gear to sell off with the money going to charities. last year i sold my early VH road case (that hurt...) but i still have my signed VH tour used bass drum head (as well as other tour kick heads)

Nice! Though definitely not stock at all, LM402s don't come with tube lugs or diecast hoops. So I think you got a real cool drum!

They make a LM402T model with tube lugs. John Douglas did some custom work for sure though. Personally, I don't like the tube lugs but the gold really looks nice.

You can custom order them stock from the factory with all of these specs. I have the same snare sans the gold tubes.

Regal Tip has been out of business awhile, and AVH hasnt used double-butt end sticks for ages. I cant believe those were just "thrown in".

I've seen other people who purchased items from that auction and they did throw in backstage passes and a pair of the Regal AVH sticks. I worked at Regal Tip in the early 90s. I had so many pairs of those sticks but after 30 years, I'm down to 3 pairs.
