Genetic tests on Gypsies show that their paternal haplogroups can be traced down to one subclade, which is abundant in the Banjaras. No other Rajasthani or South Asian group has it. Also the Gypsies and Banjaras share a lot of linguistic, religious and cultural elements. So all evidence points to a Banjara origin. Also, the Banjara (also known as Bazigar, Domb) are a monolithic entity due to the caste system, so you can't just extrapolate all South Asians as being related to Gypsies.

your biological father is extremely unlikely to be a Romanian Gypsy, either that, or you got someone else's results. Balkan Gypsies generally have 40smth-50smth of South Asian, which means having only 1% is extremely unlikely for a half gypsy

I loved looking at my Ancestry results even though I already knew what it was going to say. It was interesting to see the smaller percentages. We always thought we were part Romanian because my grandmother's family had left from Romania to come to the US but it turned out that they actually went to Romania from Russia to get on the boat because the quota of Russians had been exceeded.

Also there is a group in India called NADODIGAL. They still live the same way as nomads. It’s a long standing tradition. They have been like this for millennia’s. Before the time of borders they might have migrated to other parts and the European tribes might have been called gypsies. Many gypsy traditions are similar to old Indian traditions. Also there is a story in the vedas of DANU and his decentents being banished or something to the west. This a story from a time maybe even before multiple millennia’s. But many of the old religions of Europe have similar gods. Also many rivers have the name Danube. It’s a strange story but there are traces for something has happened in the past.

Romanian Gypsies aka Roma people are natives of Kingdom of Kannauj (in present day state of Uttar Pradesh in India) who moved out of India with Mohammad Ghauri (perhaps they were taken slaves) and then they travelled to Europe. Although they don't speak any Hindi/Indian language anymore but some of the words they speak resemble words in Hindi.

Be interesting if the lady's biological parents took the test. When you add together all the Scandinavian with UK results if her father does have Romanian Gypsy ancestry he must also have north European of some kind. But it does seem odd there are no other indications of Roma Gypsy DNA (balkan, southern Europe, western Asia) besides the 1% Indian. Fascinating stuff though - oral family history/ DNA science / human migration stories.

also,something else to say is that you seem to be almost fully of Northwest european descent. Specifically you seem to be almost fully from England/Scotland. This is inconsistent with any sort of south/southeast european ancestry. Romanians would typically score greek/balkan,some italian and some east european. Romanian gypsies would be that+south asian+west asian Some admixture from Native americans
