You know, on Choplifter you can eject the hostages from your helicopter after you've been hit. They don't have to all die. Just keep pressing the attack button after you're hit and they'll parachute out one by one. You can get about 3 or 4 of them out before you crash depending on your altitude when you take the hit.
@GameSack4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I'll try that!
@Ahmadu1004 жыл бұрын
Nice trick it worked,never knew that before, in the master system version the hostages fly away in little jets and in the NES version the hostages jump out with little parachutes just like in the Arcade version except you don't use the attack button to do that you use the button that changes the chopper's direction,nice parallax scrolling in both versions though.

The reason for the labels on your Ghouls ‘n Ghosts pcb is that is was converted from either a SF II Champion Edition or Hyper Fighting pcb using modified roms to work on those later CPS-1 boards. It was a much more affordable solution than buying an original early CPS-1 Ghouls ‘n Ghosts pcb since the SF2 pcbs are far more common.

I bought a HAS supergun from a friend when he bought a candy cab. It was nice to buy a single package with a power supply and Saturn adapters all together. Think there’s a kick harness in the package as well. I got, like, 5 different games, but one of the more interesting one is the puzzle game “Dancing Eyes” by Namco. It’s marketed as one of those naughty games where you undress girls to see them in their underwear, but that’s only for the first two stages. Then it starts getting into weird stuff, like uncovering a dancing cow from a giant milk bottle and the final boss is the lead developers head inside a pineapple. Lots of fun!

Cool vid, and nice to see the collection. Got four full-sized cabs myself, ranging from good-to-great condition. Killer Instinct, Tekken Tag Tournament, Shinobi (of course), and Mortal Kombat II. That's about the extent of my arcade collection though.

@@techguyml No they didn't what? In the early days a lot of games had off the shelf parts, so they just scratched off the markings on the chip so it give them a little more time of having the game in the arcade without worry about it being bootlegged. Then in the late 80s and the 90s many games had their custom chip markings scratched off (in this case of ganbare gonta 2) it was a Mitchell game, but it used Data East chips. Hard to say why they did this, but it was done. There are even some instances of game companies scratching off just the production date of the chip because they didn't want people to know they used old chips.

Hi Joe loved this episode. Following a divorce I had to sell the majority of my games collection however I kept my pcb’s (amongst a few other bits) as you just can’t beat the original arcade experience imo. I personally started getting into pcb’s that never received a home conversion as I was lucky enough to own pretty much everything else I wanted at the time (I’d been collecting retro games since the late 90’s so amassed quite a lot!). I’ve been collecting pcb’s for about 7 years now and have about 45-50 however I am very jealous of your Gunforce 2 and your Golden Axe 2 boards - especially as neither has yet to receive a home port - I would love to have them both in my collection but both were difficult to find and expensive even back when I started collecting. Very sorry to hear about the sound on the GA I hope you find someone who can help fix it - the joys of pcb collecting!! 🤞

The reason the Ghouls N Ghosts board has those stickers on them is because it’s a converted Street Fighter 2 Championship board. Likely burned EPROM’s. There are conversion EPROM’s available from Capcom that would have Capcom stickers on them. The original board for US is similar but different. The original Japanese board has two versions. One released in 1988 and a re-release board in 1991.

I'd HIGHLY recommend contacting the 8-bit guy in relation to fixing your Golden Axe arcade board. He himself may not know how to fix it, but he sure has a wealth of connections (judging by the stuff fixed up in his videos). He's your best bet. And likely he'd do a video about it. A chance at a cross channel video :).

I have 5 cps2 boards and they are probably the best and easiest arcade boards to collect.They are very well protected ,you can modify an "A" board with hdmi and controller ports directly to tv without the need of a supergun and if you want you can add all the games on a system to be able to switch on the fly.Unfortunately due to that ,the prices are climbing like crazy.

In choplifter you can actually parachute the rescued hostages out when you get shot down, before you hit the ground...
