hi avery! i don’t normally comment on your vids but i just wanted to say thank you for keeping the emotional parts in the vid. birthdays (specifically my own) are something that i have struggled with my whole life and something that causes me a ton of anxiety. last november i turned 20 and i had an entire mental breakdown lol. but seeing that other people struggle with this is really comforting and nice to know. I also relate to what you said about when people do nice things for you. i feel the same way which is one of the reasons i struggle on birthdays because it’s an entire day where people are giving things to you. i’m hoping my next birthday when i also will be turning 21 i will do what you mentioned and try to keep a good mindset. like you mentioned although you can’t control the entirety of how you feel you can try and alter your thoughts to be more positive and relaxed. anyways it’s really comforting to see that i’m not alone in feeling this way

Just want to say..I also struggle with feeling constantly like a burden. It's taken me all of my 28 years to realize that not asking for help is just my ego getting in the way. Asking for help or having expectations of others is a very vulnerable position. It's actually endearing to others and forms strong friendships, because when you do ask for help, it shows that you trust them. Happy birthday love. I’ve never commented before, but this video really spoke to me. I always forget that we are the same age because I discovered your channel from your sister’s in like 8th grade and just assumed you were older. Shortly after I got off youtube, but your channel was the only one I would go back to. I just turned 21 earlier this month and this year is the first birthday I have had where I didn’t feel like a burden or an afterthought. I have always felt like we are so similar yet have such different life experiences, so I love seeing and hearing your thoughts and feelings coming from a similar emotional perspective. I had my first no cry birthday this year and truthfully can’t explain it since it was one of the most stressful weeks of my life, but now know that my past experiences were overcome by frustration and grievance. I wish you the best for your 21st year around the sun and hope that you find all the love and happiness your heart desires.

You're talking about your mental health a lot which makes me think you're probably on some pills. Maybe they're giving you side effects. There was a time I was severely anxious and was crying every day and it took me a whole month to understand it was because of Concerta. Almost all medicines' reported side effects are for men, they don't mention things that happen to women. Our only guide is anectodal evidence so it's hard to figure out sometimes.
