2:22:08, someone here sees a quote about a holy hand grenade and calls it a "worms reference". This is fine. There's nothing wrong with not having seen Monty Python and The Holy Grail. It's definitely not a moral failing. And Worms is a great game. But it hurts me. It hurts me like hearing some young kid say, "Oh hey, Aang, that's the guy from Fortnite." It wounds me, sir. It wounds my soul.

Saying this part first, so it doesn't get lost in the word wall following it. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!! Watching you sort out some of the crazy mechanics in this game COMPLETELY blind, from scratch is incredibly fascinating. It was thinks to finding your first video in this series that I really focused on this game for the last several weeks now. I went from around 700 hours total up to about 1500, JUST from watching you enjoy learning it. I'm currently playing nightmare mode until I beat that, ONCE, then I will be going back to the very long normal runs after this. I've actually learned some pretty cool things from watching you learn. You even managed to figure out a way to back blades safer with that "avoids terrain" modifier. I can confirm it still works with Giga-Blades... But I'm pretty sure it won't do diddly with omega blades. ;) BUT you made the first two, less scary... Which is good, because blade-damage is the only way to wreck some bosses. Also, since the first good wand you figured out was a high-damage shotty, I've been learning how to make a few of those too. The first gun I found was a frame-gun with just plain spark bolt, and later improved by concentrated light. Never really broadened out after that. I look forward to watching the rest of this stream. :) - 10:45 - "loot isn't great here" Nah, not really, but ONLY because you've been all the way down to Kolmi's Mountain and back... AND found some pretty good stuff. Overgrown Caverns is also called "Wandmart" by the community, because you can usually find some really good wands, and spells on wands, throughout this entire Biome. :) - 47:00 - Yeah, "Always Cast"s are a bit strange. They don't cost the listed mana, but they do fire off both the cast delay and the recharge delay. It gets even stranger when it's a projectile modifier. I'm not even sure how exactly those work. Sometimes the modifier works fine (always homing), other times, it won't activate at all (some of the directional modifiers). I'm hoping I'll learn some stuff from you here though. - 51:20 - Meat Realm. - 40 seconds later. I see you've figured out why. ;) - 1:39:00 - Yeah, that is not feasible this run. You wrecked what it's for way back when you were fighting Bridge Boss. It _might_ be possible to still do it, if you took it back to where that other strange thing was that you found, and were REALLY good at controlling it around the route. But I've never seen anyone attempt it after obliterating the starting point. - 2:10:00 -ish - WOW!!! I've not even managed The Tower coming in from the bottom, before. And I've only even _vaguely_ seen it from some of the 'Heavies' who really know this game inside and out. They usually just go in from the cursed rock above the whole mess. lol - At the 3 hour mark, I finally thought about a comment for the little green guy you were playing with a while ago. His is actually called "Friend". It's pretty amazing that you found him, because his spawn point is randomized between like 8 locations on the entire main map (always in extremely dense rock, also just called EDR). And you're only meant to find it MUCH later in a run by getting another (kind of crazy) perk else where in the world. ... Obscure Mechanic, you'd likely not think of? If you get him ALL THE WAY TO THAT TOWER DIAMOND from whereEVER you find him at, it's a single spell unlock. *rolls eyes* But OH what a spell! *mischief grin* I've yet to get it legitimately. And have quite a ways to go before even getting back to the normal mode in the game, since I'm still smashing my head repeatedly against Nightmare Mode. - 3:11:00 - Oh... yeah, quick point this time. If it doesn't _say_ what kind of damage it is/adds/does, it's just basic projectile. - End of the line - You know what... I'm gonna give you credit for that one... You had it, and you were gonna get it, you were patient enough and actually doing damage. I'm coming up on 1500 hours in the game, and I've YET to beat Leviathan (*). You basically got to it in 58 hours, and had a methodical method of dealing damage and everything. That is amazing, and you should be incredibly proud of that accomplishment. You'll find out later that being on a triple blood-shift run would have been just the right time to get it too. Ah well. That was FUN to watch. I will give you a hint that you don't want to do this guy too early in a run; for reasons that will become clear once you to beat it. lol No, it wasn't some weird mechanic. You accidentally just stumbled across the best way to go about fighting Leviathan. All his mechanics are designed to counteract most super wands. And he's got a lot of immunities that make him even more challenging. So hit and run tactics are pretty much best. Not to mention, that even though you didn't have the breathless perk, you had found a way to mitigate all that water that's supposed to be in there with him, drowning you the whole way. All in all, that was basically it, had your angry ghost not merc'd ya in the end. (*) Even WITH some cheaty mods on here and there, don't use them any more because I learned what I needed to learn, and don't need them now. But even then it's still a really hard game - *So amazing watching you just stomp ALL over this game in the best way possible. I hope you are still playing it, even if only on your own, but I would also love to see more long VoDs of it in the future.*

Cursed Rock is interesting. Because SOMETIMES it's there because it surrounds some area you are intended to enter with a portal opened by some arcane means or perhaps a single uncursed entryway at the end of some other side area. But that isn't always the case. Sometimes the things on the other side of cursed rock can't be reached except by taking the curse to the face. Those places are dangerous to deal with, what with curse damage having no immunity perk and being constant fairly significant damage, but also sometimes the most useful stuff in the game is there waiting for you. That's the thing about Noita. There's half dozen different endings. There's always something to discover. There's no end to the paths you can take. Literally.
@kevadroz7 ай бұрын
Half a dozen? Let me count... Ok so there's The normal ending, then there's toxic, pure, pacific, yendor and game over. Yes, half a dozen.

I'm pretty sure at this point that the Emerald Tablet - VI 3:03:43 is nothing but the developers having a dig at streamers and people who watch streams. As in you can't figure out the secrets of the game without putting in the work yourself, and explore things by yourself, instead of simply playing the game and explore, without following a set path that you've learned by watching the content beforehand.
@MagnificentXXBastard6 ай бұрын
I think it is, like many of the tablets, a real life alchemical text from a hermeticist background. The Tabula Smaragdina, Secretorum Hermetis etc. are real life history, which is why they are worded so weirdly, they are old. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Tablet

You definitely need to learn to be less scared sometimes. I understand being careful cause you have a good run going, but you can always get another god run if you’re smart about it. Things like casting black hole in random directions with no regard to where it’s going, avoiding Cursed rock like it’s the plague when you very obviously out heal the damage it puts out simply out of fear, to shooting into the abyss hoping something good will happen (Which I was very glad to see backfired with Tovari). Especially when it comes to Cursed rock, you’re still falling into disincentivizing design. Yes, the game is trying to force you to go up the Tower, for example, cause ah spooky scary rock hurts me a little. But why should you have to? You need to try cheating the game more. You’re still kinda playing by some of its rules and falling into traps out of sheer fear and ignorance. My advice is to go outside your comfort zone more, especially if you feel you’re powerful (Meat zone I can understand though…as a new player in a new zone with new enemies and dangers, making damage permanent is very terrifying )
@synthetic95006 ай бұрын
Although Carl seems to be the analytical type who calmly observes a situation. As soon as there's even a hint of danger, his brain kicks into fear mode. It's pretty tough to watch. Especially when he ignores secrets or destroys everything and deprives not only himself, but also his viewers, of the opportunity to experience something cool and really showcase what the game has to offer. I can't tell you how many instances there have been where Carl didn't see something that was clearly in front of him. Be it always-casts, puzzlr structures, glowing items, glowing substances, symbols or spells. He's missed so so so much that my frustration kept rising. And no. It's not the typical viewer advantage. All those things were directly next to him, with bright colors. He just rushed past it as quickly as he could and sometimes didn't even read the complete description of spells and wands. One time he used "cursed orb" and didn't even hit an enemy with it to activate the effect. He then just tossed the spell away coming to a conclusion which was completely wrong. Or when he testet the greek alphabet spells. He clearly saw that the 0 use CoV could be copied indefinitely. But then he tried it on the black holes with 2&3 uses left, respectively, he somehow came to the conclusion that it would not work for black holes WITHOUT even having tried to see if it worked in practice. I feel like there's a strong STRONG case of adhd going on here and I've continued watching with that in mind. I've focused on fun things like him discovering new stuff, regardless of how slowly it's happening. In the end, he won't improve in what both of us have mentioned. Either you accept it or you just watch the early footage of some of the more well-know Noita streamers :^) They're much more scientificly inclined, patient, (smarter) and just generally so much more open to the richness oozing out of this game.
@Justin-rv1mm6 ай бұрын
I think he did fairly well in getting as much information out of this run as he could, considering he didn't RNG that many immunities compared to his last run, he's >50 hours in and getting trolled by the companion. He learned that if he can cheese the alchemist early mid game, he can get Greek spells to get back to where he was relatively easily, and begin exploring the puzzles and biomes properly with a basic understanding of what is out there. I also blame the devs for making the player dig into the dragon egg to fight potentially the first boss, which is rarely used again, because it causes players to dig into puzzles to see if a boss is going to spawn. I was interested in playing Noita when it was first released, but I didn't think I had enough patience for the abundant cheap deaths in a permadeath rouge-like. However, after this run and the previous run, I feel like I have gained enough knowledge to where I would enjoy playing the game.
@cheeseitup19716 ай бұрын
I feel like you're not appreciating the unknown. Why would he go through cursed rock? When he goes in deeper, it starts doing more damage. He finds it bordering the world and the tower. What if it's just a world border that will kill you? The Tower was reached by portal, who says it's the same map? What if the damage keeps increasing far beyond his healing? What if there is something dangerous behind the rock? It's worth exploring, and clearly it is his instinct to explore it. But when there are still obviously fruitful unknowns, like new areas or going up the Tower, speculating on a dangerous, weird idea doesn't seem smart.

@anthonybowman34237 ай бұрын
They talked about that in the last video a fair amount, but I don't think Carl really got what they were trying to say. He just thought faster did more damage, when it's actually a ratio of how fast it's going to how fast it started when cast. Damage is added by acceleration, not speed. You can legit get a bouncing bolt to do billions of damage. Though with wand building you can cause any number of truly absurd things.
@815TypeSirius7 ай бұрын
