I think the dresser would look amazing if you keep the drawers as is, and paint the bod the same caramel color as your leather couch. I love the red ceramic bowl on it as it brings out the red in the drawers.. I hope I've described my vision so you can see it too 😌

"This kinda section brings me no joy" so polite😂 Your side table gives me Scottish bagpipes vibes. The colourful hanging thing, reminds me of a fish bowl and the colourful specs are fish. Love all you finds, especially that lamp!

If you ever come down to Virginia, we have the Factory Antique Mall in Verona. It’s the biggest antique store in the US. It can be overwhelming, too, but it’s one story and tons of fun!
@janetd48625 ай бұрын
Your line, “I can make that!” brought back memories….not necessarily good ones. My mother made all my clothes when I was a child. As I reached my teen years, I didn’t want ”homemade” clothes - I wanted cute things I saw at the mall. When my mom was willing to take me shopping, everything I liked was met with “I can make that.” Problem is, she never did! She made what SHE liked. My first purchase when I left home was a sewing machine. I usually made my own clothes because it was cheaper (and then I could have more for the same price). Nowadays, between my husband and I, we can make almost anything, but if I see something that speaks to me (and I can afford it), then I buy it. No remorse, no guilt. Sometimes instant gratification is the simple pleasure I need.

My grandmother was born in the late 1800's. In her kitchen, she had that metal piece that attaches to the wall or a Hoosier cabinet and it has a spindle. She used her's to hold a spool of twine. A pair of ✂️ was tied to it. I use it now to hold a spool of cotton string in my kitchen. Perfect for tying up a stuffed rolled up roast! The first large wooden spool shape that you held up was used in a mortar as a pestle for grinding or pounding together large amounts of spices, 🌿 herbs, fruits, meats, or veggies. They are fun items! Liked the Gillian Anderson figure. I am looking for a Bewitched Barbie myself!

I'm 61 (yikes!) and I LOVE pottery, wood bowls, and baskets. In fact, I am currently downsized so much that all I own at this point is in a 5 x 10 storage unit since I am renting a fully furnished tiny apartment waiting to move to another state. The only things I cannot part with are vintage and those 3 categories of beautiful items. I love your style, Danie. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and sense of fun. Have a great weekend!

The glass lightshade is a vintage 1930's flycatcher lightshade. I remember lots of these growing up in the UK in the 1950's, my grandmother had one in her sitting room (the posh room you were only allowed into on Sundays or Christmas)

Yes you’re right. I live in England and had a couple of these a long time ago . I was upset when I broke one soon after moving house and before I could get a ceiling rose with the special little hooks to hang it from.

Nice finds! I particularly love the tall wood pieces, the black pottery and that expanding wall light...to die for! If you are looking for paint color ideas for the cabinet with drawers, what about leaving the drawers red to bring in more of that red color you like and painting the green part in black, but maybe a muddled charcoal black sort of like your new pottery vase.
