@MonsterMichaelTodd 13:06 Michael, your goal is to increase bicep strength in 90 degree or even smaller elbow angles. You do the pronation lift with a king's move like opened up / opining up elbow angle (significantly larger than 90 degree) in your training and got great results so far. Now, just do ADDITIONALLY the pronation lift with 90 degree elbow angle, meaning with a weight that allows you to keep the 90 degree elbow angles without opening up, and work on increasing the weight over time while always making sure to keep the 90 degree. DON'T do what you suggested in your last livestream, which was planning to do extended static holding of medium weights with small elbow angles for extended periods of time, this will possibly just lead to SHORTENING OF THE BICEP MUSCLE (and reducing the possible range of motion through the shrunken bicep belly length), which will lead to the danger of getting another bicep tear when doing the king's move due to the then (through wrong training) shortened bicep being completely elongated and stretched out before you hit the elbow bone lock! VERY DANGEROUS! Ask your doctor about the danger of muscle shortening due to extended isometric holds in a shortened position, he will affirm my concerns! Everything went well so far, don't screw it up through implementing new training techniques while not fully researching and thinking through the possible risks and dangers of those new techniques! I want to be as clear as possible with my advice: You should do the pronation lift in your training in 2 different forms, both forms done in the same workout sessions: Form 1) With a king's move like opened up/ opening up elbow angle above 90 degree (meaning: keep doing it as you did the exercise recently) and with the biggest weights possible in this form. AND also / additionally: Form 2) With a 90 degree elbow angle (meaning: elbow angle not opening up while lifting) and with the biggest weights possible in this form. Result: You will increse bicep strength 1) in above 90 degree elbow angle (king's move), and additionally you will increase bicep strength 2) in smaller (90 degree) elbow angle, without the danger of your biceps belly length becoming pathologically shortened / shrunken and losing ROM because of that.

I’d say don’t give away so much of your numbers, training program and where you’re at… you’re giving the opponent all the targets to overcome. I think a thing that Devon does well is only giving partial info so the opponents never really know where he is at. Besides that you already noted that you need to climb and improve your position during the match and as others have stated you need to improve your set up for example being posted higher and maybe talking before the match about being able to get a tighter strap… in fact I wouldn’t have mentioned that in this video and would have pushed on that behind the scenes. Program consideration: For table-time do “flow” training like mma fighters do. 50% intensity (power) at maybe 80% speed. This is popularized over traditional sparring to reduce damage to the athletes while training the skills. They can ultimately use this flow method to train for much longer as well. All your strength programming is on point though. I feel like Brian Shaw would vibe more with your training since you are clearly using programming principles from powerlifting and the strength world.

As just a spectator and one that truly likes this sport, I may be wrong but I’d say if you can meet in the middle and be stronger there as well have tremendous back pressure over genadi then turn it to a press would be the best way to overcome him. The strength of you guys and the fact that some can still be stronger is just unreal. But I wouldn’t try to overcome genadi with a kings move in hope to drain him out. That’s a lot on both of you. Meet and be stronger in the middle and turn it into a press is the lane I see to victory. But I could sound dumb and ignorant to the ones that do this for a living. I love learning.
@hudsonnovak11512 ай бұрын
Much improvement, I would say just work more on back pressure like you’ve been. Genadi relies HEAVILY on side pressure and so the best counter would be to pull him away from a comfortable position on his side of the table.

Don’t feel u need a big practice day at all of table pulling. U been armwrelsing for 30’years. U know what to do when match starts. Keep the pronation going and see how far u can get on the singles. I would focus more on rise than pronation. Reason being is that genadi cut Devon’s pronation very easy and forced hook almost everytime and pressed him right down. If he presses u ur kings move and good rise will crack his wrist better than pronation. The rise life u do is perfect form too. Just opinions from New York. Keep grinding monster.

If you could post up better and then control center I think you would become un-stobable. You have everything else but that, which used to be enough in the past, but unless you make the match stop in the center you will have no chance against Levan. You are not going to be able to just camp out in an open top-roll against Levan to try and tire him out ever. You are going to have to stop him at center just like Ermes (though you will have to keep your hand and wrist unlike Ermes) and especially like Devon did and even though Devon lost that was the key to at least stopping the match to have a chance to then do something from there. Even if you do get the stop at center you will still also have to be able to pin him. Think you can press Levan? I think this same strategy will work for you against Ginadi, but not sure you will have what it takes to actually pin Levan even if you can stop the match in the center......Open toproll position, forget about it! Both of these guys are proving they can defeat the open toproll against the two best in the world to ever use them, you and Devon. That is not your lane with these guys.
