Thank you for sharing that not all moms have birth experiences like pictured on social media or TV/movies. Labor is called labor for a reason - its HARD WORK!!! Even when you didn't look "social media perfect", you looked great, because you were so willing to be REAL. Congratulations to you, Shai, and the rest of your family! Beautiful baby boy! And thanks to your mom, too, for taking care of you like only a mom can!

Thank you for sharing your story, it was amazing. I gave birth 3 times all natural, and the third was delivered at home with a mid-wife. I feel your pain sister! It is difficult and pain like you have never felt in your life. I had very long labors so I was always exhausted by the end of it. But two sets of twins? WOW, JUST WOW! You are a rock star! It is OK to show the human side of childbirth. It is a blessing to bring a new life into this world, a new light to shine for G-d. I loved seeing the excitement of your children when the new baby was finally brought home. Lovely!

I tried so hard to do natural birth. I labored for 24 hours. The baby was fine but my blood pressure was all over the place. I had told my doctor that I didn’t want any drugs, although I regretted that, we kept to that. Finally my doctor came in and said that this wasn’t working and he wanted to do a C Section. At that point, had he told me to jump out the window and the baby would come, I would have done it. It was about 7 minutes between the decision and the section. I was pretty depressed until my doctor actually sat me down and told me that the only thing that mattered was that the baby was healthy. He was right.

Congratulations on your precious baby boy! He is so tiny! I appreciate your willingness to share the struggles you had. So many mommas are made to feel guilty because their birth experience and recover are not the picture perfect ones shown on social media. I love how excited your kiddos were to have the baby (and you) home. Your daughter holding her baby brother was so sweet. You could see the love she has for him and that she is going to be his protector. Enjoy this beautiful precious time with your new baby and the rest of your family.

Sonya, my heart is with you. Your experience is remarkably similar to my own. Almost a year ago my daughter (first baby) was born at 34 weeks via emergency C-section due to preeclampsia. I had to be admitted to the ER 5 days later because my blood pressure was not stable and I had issues with horrible clogged ducts when my milk was coming in. And yes, the magnesium drip is the worst! It was rough but we made it through and I appreciate you sharing the raw reality of the postpartum experience. Your son is beautiful and I am so happy for you and your family! 💞

Oh boy what an experience! You don't have to apologize or say it could be worse, you went through a LOT and you deserve all the credit for getting through it and staying so positive, you don't need to compare yourself to anyone else. We're all put in exactly the circumstances we need to grow and fulfill our potential. Even tho it was hard, I hope you feel that You've grown and become stronger from the challenges you've been through. I had all 7 of my kids without epidural coz I was so scared of it going wrong and the lack of control of my own body. But I've never experienced any of the things you speak about in this video, I can't even imagine what that's like. You're an amazing strong woman and we are all so inspired by you. Thank you for sharing your real raw story, I cried when you spoke about your mom. It's so true, no matter how old we get, there's nothing like having your mom when times are tough. Oh and btw the clip you kept warning us that you look "so bad" in - you look beautiful as ever! You have an inner goodness that shines out, you are glowing 😇

Congratulations on your beautiful little boy. And that you are recovering well. It’s wonderful that you show the reality of childbirth. I was shocked to my core when I gave birth at how I looked and felt afterwards. I felt somehow as if I’d failed because I was tired and fat and looked terrible. If I’d known ahead of time what was coming I could have saved myself a lot of misery. Been kinder to myself and enjoyed my baby more. This was forty years ago and I still remember. And I am just blown away by the meal train. What a great thing to do. So impressive. Be well.

This hits really close to home for me. My oldest son was born at 34 weeks at 4lb 12oz. I had preeclampsia (bp 200/100). You described it best, labor was intense lol. No epidural since it’s not a common practice in my country. I remember being so devastated when my son had to stay in the NICU for one week. I’m so happy to see you and your baby are doing good and the kids are so happy for having a new sibling. May God bless and protect you all.

What country are you from? My children were born in the mid 80’s on the west coast of the US and “natural childbirth” was the on,y thing offered. You didn’t get an epidural unless you ended up having a c-section. Looking back now, I’m glad I had those experiences. One of my daughters ended up having a c-section and she said she felt sad that she didn’t get to experience the natural way all the way through. I told her though, she had hours of natural labor before they took her to surgery so she basically got the experience.

I know all about that too. I had a very difficult experience and recovery after my first baby, and bad depression for several months, which doctors didn’t understand like they do today. Had great support in my husband, family and our church family who did meals, not to mention a loving, caring, heavenly Father-God and many prayers. Thank you for sharing all of this Sonya. I am so thankful to hear that you and the baby are fine now. Such scary days for you and each of your children. G-d is good to bring you through it with a healthy mom and a healthy baby. Shai is the best and I'm glad you had your mom, too. Such blessings.

I was so touched by your video and I’m so sorry you went through all this. Thanks be to our Abba father that you, your baby, and your family are doing well now. It was so sweet of your community to bring food during that difficult time, and so glad your sweet mom was there for you. I also observe the Shabbat and have learned a lot from your videos. May our holy father continue to bless you and your whole family!
