Thank you for all my birthday messages. I never want gifts from friends or family, however, I like to buy myself something as a treat. This year’s choice was somewhat extravagant, but I had been considering using a skin foundation just for photo shoots. My journey took me to Harrods and the purchase of what can only be described as a beauty investment! That’s why I spent so long filming the makeover. Forgive me!

I too don’t use foundation; never have. Now I’m a woman of a “certain age” (60s) I feel I should?! Right now I only use No 7 concealer. I too feel foundation makes me look and feel “caked” in make up. ........It was hard to tell if the expensive foundation did anything for you on camera. You always have a healthy natural glow Jo, so I’m not sure you need it anyway. But just do what makes you feel good. Spend as much as you want on beauty, you’ve earned it - ignore the critics. Oh gosh I’m flabbergasted I really am , Just looked up the foundation , no really Jo !! I’m 80 and I think I’m extravagant with make ups using the one where she calls you Darling all the time . You know the one . It does the job makes me look years younger and her concealer is fantastic for dark rings around the eyes and sun spots ( after living in Portugal for 15 years they are obligatory :) Jo you are perky, fun and mostly very entertaining, but you don’t need a foundation costing all that money even if you can afford it . The lines are still there , you’ve earned them . You’ve got your dog, your Mum , lots of friends a fab job . You’ll need that extra money later to pay the heating bill, or is that in with the rent? Don’t line their pockets with gold they are just being greedy . Thank you for the tip …..beauty pie . I took out a years subscription and have bought some of their products nice and beautifully presented and packaged . You looked as though you had a great birthday , don’t mind me it’s just another opinion x

Good for you Jo!!! Why not? For a few years, my sister and I used to buy 1 pot (shared the cost and shared the cream) of La Prairie’s Caviar moisturiser (face). My half used to last just short of a year! Friends of mine used to spend far more with all their products! We were always given quite a few La Prairie samples as well. I think the plastic plate you got in the box is to decant (using the spatula) the product onto from the jar, to then apply using your brush. Also, Jo, you work for your money so you are entitled to spend it as you chose and on what you chose. People should not judge! Who else would do a shift from what to midnight on the radio? That’s hard work and you do it so well. Not many could do what you do. It’s a gift and a talent. You deserve to buy whatever you like! Hi Jo. Another brilliant vlog. It has motivated me to start wearing foundation again. Since the first covid lockdown and having to stay indoors, I have not found the need to wear makeup and evening though we are allowed to go out, I still haven't been wearing makeup but it has contributed to me not feeling so good about myself. I want to be glamourous again. The foundation really suits you. I agree it is very natural on you but your skin is really good in the first place. Myrtle is upstaging you every week, she is adorable.
