CAN I JUST SAY, the physical book / ebook code thing is a need!!! Now that i can't access any of my physical TBR back in Aus i'm wanting to read my books but i'd have to buy them again to read on my Kindle and i don't wanna pay for the same book twice, especially if i don't know if it's gonna be good or not.

I know the romance covers being so similar is a marketing tactic to get people to check out another book that looked similar to a book you have already read but it still bothers me so much 😂 I want a book to feel original if I’m going to read it. OMG I totally agree about the synopsis! I’d rather just have a two sentence summary so I have some idea of what type of book it is, but I much prefer going into things knowing as little as possible about the plot. There’s certain books I hear the description of so much and it’s so long I get angry even though I can skip through, cause like, I get itttttt.

Omgggggg I agree with these SO MUCH. I hadn't even realized how similar those romance covers are, that's ridiculous!!! That's how I feel about Christmas book covers also, they all look the same! And 9 times out of 10 I don't even read a synopsis on a book hahahaha even if it's something that happens in the first chapter of the book I never like knowing what it is!

Use goo gone! It comes in a bottle in the cleaning supplies aisle but it’s made to get sticky or waxy residue off stuff and a small amount usually will get sticker residue right off!

Things that I miss is a list of characters in the book. Where they just give you a brief knowledge of each character going in. This is helpful in series books. I also like it when chapters have names attached to them. Instead of Chapter One, it's A Long Dark Night or something like that, so you can find things easier and it just makes things fun.

Idk if this is a thing in the US but in Australia when a book is a new release instead of doing a hardback sometimes they just do an extra tall paperback and I'm like ???? now it's just hard to fit in the shelves & doesn't match the height of regular paperbacks. Congrats on 20k 🎉🎉

My biggest bookish pet peeve is honestly when the spine is not a continuation of the frontcover artwork. Like I hate when the spine is a completely different colour than the front and I hate when you can still see the exact line where the cover stops or whatever. I just want my dust jackets to be one continuous piece of art when I would unfold them and lay them out. Is that too much to ask for ? I really really really do not like seeing that ugly separation line on my shelves.

I hate it when paperback covers aren't the same length as the rest of the book - the best example I can think of is the paperback edition of An Absolutely Remarkable Thing. I also hate mass market paperback, they're always so tightly sewn together and it's impossible to open and read them without breaking the spine 🎄

I signed up to get my first book and picked Frankly In Love by David Yoon. 🎄Also, I definitely agree about the permanent stickers on books. I purchased the first three books in the Selection series, and they all have a permanent sticker for The Betrothed 🙄

My biggest pet peeve about a book besides everyone like stickers, number the book series etc, is when you have multiple characters and you cannot distinguish between any of them. Also having one main character for several books then all of a sudden you have multiple, it's like how often did I want to see that scene from another characters viewpoint and I feel cheated and robbed of that experience.

When I get fingerprints on my books with those covers I spray a tiny bit of hand sanitizer and clean the cover with toilet paper. Always works well

The mix of hardcover and paperback is frustrating. Looking at you, Nsibidi Scripts series by Nnedi Okorafor. You can no longer find the earlier books in hardcover but the most recent one is only available in hardcover. Or if you find a secondhand copy of the first, the graphics don't match the 2nd & 3rd.
