LOL. I'm 27, female, who just celebrated 4 years with my 51 year old girlfriend. I feel you. Love doesn't think about the same kinds of things as society. It's hard enough to find true love without having to deal with what people think of your personal relationship. So here's a comment saying I'm happy you're happy. You go, girl.

First off, congratulations to both of you! Secondly ... my wife and I are 19 years apart, me being younger, and we just celebrated our 19th anniversary. She has a son who is 1 month older than me (and was cool about the whole thing). I've had several people balk at our age difference (including some of my family), but in the end there are only two peoples' opinions who matter: that of my wife and my own. I couldn't care less about what my "peers" think, and that includes my family. Love isn't based on age, skin color, gender, it is what it is, and I'm just happy I found it. :)

Valerie you have an infectious wonderful laugh and sense of humor, and no matter what kind of mood I'm in, or tired, or depressed, you cheer me up as soon as I turn on your videos. I could sit here and listen to you talk for hours. Love has no knowledge of age or numbers, you are both grown adults, and the way you make me feel, I'm sure you light up a room, and cheer up anyone in your path. Isn't it amazing how judgmental some idiots can be? Mind-boggling. As if it is any of their business. A guy I dated over 22 years was younger than me. At a party one female (definitely not a lady!!), kept making rude remarks and asking foolish questions. I finally had to stop the stupidity so I stated 'if he was older it would not be an issue so are you jealous, rude, just stupid or all of the above?'. I was shocked to hear applause as other attendees escorted her outside. She departed and the festivities continued. I honestly think part of the remarks are rooted in jealousy. Possibly the age difference gives the voice to be catty. Either way it is rude, foolish, stupid, unnecessary and none of their business. They are probably lonely - and for obvious reasons. Their behavior would cause them to be alone - and miserable. Seems appropriate and fair to me.

For the last 15 - 20 years I've found men my age are too old for me. The last one I dated my age (50ish at the time) even told me I had too much energy that I should trade him in for someone younger. So when the 26 year old asked me out I did just that. It didn't last, I had to leave when my dad passed, but 7 months later he married a lady far closer to my age than his. Age is just a number. It's all about enjoying the one you're with and keeping up with each other.

This was great!! What gets me is when the waitress clearly see you holding hands and then hand me the check and when my hubby goes to pay they say "How nice you paying for your mom" ....Ouch! What is funny is to see their faces when hubby informs them that I'm his wife. My hubby is 10 years younger then me and 10 years older then son. We've been married for 18 years and together 20 years. I know more people in traditional marriages that are divorced in 6 months then I do in all non traditional marriages. Even our son married a woman 15 years older then him. Maybe there something to this. Keep up what your doing!

I was having a bad day until I watched your video. Thank you for posting it. A lot of people are rude about relationships if the woman is older in the relationship. I noticed with the celebrities that they don't pick on male celebrities as much with the age thing, but a woman can be only a few years older and it will be a big issue. What is annoying is that women are so hard on other women about this. I married a guy about five years younger and we have been married for 36 years. Noone knows or has ever said anything yet. The same people that are rude about this issue are usually rude about other things and as far as your relationship is concerned they are probably jealous. A lot of people have dirty minds and just think of the sexual aspect of a relationship and not the fact that you get along well with the person. O.K., I've written a book here I better stop now.

My husband is 4 years older than me but he looks much younger and I haven't weathered well (I am nearly 24 and already have fine lines appearing) and people laugh and comment about how I have "caught a toy boy"!!! Pure rudeness. I know a very happy couple getting married this weekend that have a similar age gap to you and your partner. Age is a number. LOL! I just adore you! I watch your polymer clay tutorials and I thought I'd have a look at this one. I just loved every word you said. I laughed with you shedding tears I was laughing so hard, lol. I too am married to a younger man. He is 10 years younger than me and I tell you I've been through a lot of the same, lol.... My favorite one was when we were in a convenience store and he and I were in line to make a purchase and he decided to start to eat the donut he was buying before we'd even gotten up to the register. The cashier overheard me gasp and say, "Honey! What if the bank card doesn't work or something goes wrong?? You shouldn't eat that until we've paid for it!!" My husband just shook his head like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah" and he said to the cashier, "Don't forget to add a donut" as he walked out the door eating the rest of it. So I turned slowly back to the cashier in total disbelief of what he'd just done and she laughed and said, "Is that your son?".... LOL!!! I thought it must have been the scolding I'd just given him but then again, I hadn't dyed my grey roots in a while either, lol so... I just laughed with her then briskly said, "No.. it's my husband".... LOL!!! She looked as if she'd seen a ghost....hahaha.... I've heard them all... this was fun thank you so much for sharing!!

YAY! Congrats on the marriage! I met my hubby online - not on a dating network or anything - I was somewhat recently divorced so I most certainly was NOT looking for love, lol. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed life being on my own! He and I played spades together online. I absolutely LOVED playing spades and it seemed that whenever he and I played, we won! Just like our minds worked together with the cards like magic. Well one night we got in an argument over text message, lol....because we lost a game. He told me I should have played this card and I said he should have played that card and so on... and suddenly I thought - this is the internet, what am I doing? So I told him, "I'm not going to argue over this ridiculousness on messenger. Just leave me alone!!!" And there was a great pause and then he typed... "I don't think I can do that". I said what are you talking about??? He said..."I can't just leave you alone because I believe I've grown attached to you". I laughed and laughed and said..."Look, you are young... we play cards... we chat sometimes, yes.... but that's absolutely crazy to get attached like that you've never even met me!" (Though we'd had played online together for a year or so.) He lived in Texas and I in Michigan... no way that would work out ...or so I thought. Plus, He was 21 years old and I had 3 children, my oldest being 9 or so. So I stayed away from him for a while but the funny thing was... I couldn't get him off my mind... I thought I'd lost my marbles.... and so did my mother and sisters and so on because you never know who you're really dealing with on the net. But somehow I couldn't let go of him out of my head and one day I thought... What have I got to lose?? I'm gonna have a go at it.... So I logged back into spades on yahoo and navigated to where he was and said...."I'd like to try this"... He was so excited!!! And in 3 months time he moved up to Michigan. I'd never laid eyes on him in person before but when he walked through the door it's as if we'd known one another for a lifetime. We were the very best of friends. He took very well to the children and was mature yet playful. 3 months after we were married and now 17 years later we are still married and I love him more and more each day.... as long as he's not talking...LOL (just kidding)..... So, it can work and it can be beautiful! You are a terrific lady and I simply adore your humor, your sensitivity, your caring nature and I have to add you have my favorite accent ever!! Remember, I'm from Texas but was born and raised in Michigan so I don't hear your accent around where I live ever! I just love it! I could listen to you for hours! Keep making videos!! I'm going to start making some tutorials myself. I am getting a bit better at polymer clay and I'd like to share also. The only videos I have are one's that I produced as singing videos. I have many... but none for the clay or wire jewelry I am making so I'm going to start doing that! Oh, I also make videos for a nonprofit organization which I built the website for. Dave and I met because we both had LiveJournal accounts. I thought he was very funny, he thought the same about me. We wrote some comedy stuff together eventually (after leaving comments to one another and chatting on some chat thing). It started out platonic, even when we first met but... well, 10 years later here we are. hahaha! I know what you mean... or at least I think I do... Do they speak differently in the North? Here in the US, they do! Because I was born in the North we not only speak differently, we also use some different words such as "pop". Up north pop means "Soda" like "Pepsi" or "7-up"...Here down south, they don't say pop. They call it either "Soda" or "Coke". The funny thing is "Coke" can mean any kind of soda like, "Coke", "Sprite", Rootbeer", lol. I suppose anything with carbonation is "coke" down here, lol. And I am a heavy coffee drinker. In the US, coffee is much more popular than tea. However, there is a wonderful tea make by traditional medicinals called "Throat Coat" and it's delightful and has a pleasantly smooth and silky feel as it slides down one's throat. It's used whenever you have a sore throat or I used it a lot when I sang because it warmed my vocal cords. It's just wonderful! Do you have that tea there? I'd consider sending you some if you didn't. I believe you would LOVE it!

We are married now (we have been together for 15 years in total). Recently a lady from the Office of National Statistics came to gather Covid swab tests from us but had to stay outside (social distancing). We had to answer questions and use the test kit. She let me take my test kit inside and said to Dave "Do you want to answer your questions, while your Mum does her test?" 😂 He replied "Wife... She's my Wife". The poor woman was mortified but we were laughing our heads off at her discomfort. It's all good fun 😂

Me and my older wife suffered abuse. We just ignored it my wife is 11 years older then me and use to be my teacher. She's 43, i'm 32 and we moved away from our old area because the abuse was too much to raise our 4 kids in but now no one judges us here in our new home that we've been living in over a year now. Some people think the world has to be perfect around them and won't accept age gap relationships. They all didn't like her because she wasn't a nice lady at school as back then she as very rude and nasty but I gave her a chance after we both left school and she still had that personality but she was more happier to be with me. You can't really change someone personality fully but she still has that side where she can be like she was during my school time. Just accept it but if he gets to out of control then moving far away is the best way. My wife didn't want to leave but I wanted us to have a stable place to live in when our 4th kid was born and it was getting harder fighting off idiots who abused our relationship calling us names nasty names also got police involved and he did nothing to help out. I use to get along with them before I was with my wife they just didn';t like my choice so better to ignore them

Most people assume that there is no way it will work, but I know people who are the same age that didn't last 6 months. So to those people who say and assume all the things that Valerie talked about here..... go get a life or better yet, find someone who is significantly older than you and see what you are missing out on! Wahoo YES DEFINITELY HIGH 5 to U! Actually u have cheered me up immensely and given me hope.. considering I have recently turned 49 lol :) On a more serious note, I have come across more RUDE Belligerent, nosey & obnoxiously obtuse, (deliberate & otherwise), people than I can remember and I can honestly say that they ALL had pathetically boring lives !! I finally came to the conclusion that these type of people are quite simply jealous (& often somewhat unhappy). Sadly they often r also the type of people who cause pain and sadness to perfectly innocent people; all because of their own insecurities & inability to see passed their own stuck up noses. Hence their audacious and extremely selfish need to heckle people who have committed such a "heinous crime as to be HAPPY" (just in case anyone doesn't realise, yes that was definitely a sarcastic tone in there). In some ways I almost ALMOST feel sorry for them. Needless to say, congratulations to u both on the wedding news below and I'm definitely looking forward to more of your vids .. Val, you are absolutely precious!! I really am glad you have decided to do your channel! I feel like I identify with you so hard! LOL I have been there! I have dated a couple of guys that were a good bit younger than me, and there is no doubt that people can be SO awful about it! I find that especially foolish since as you pointed out ALL men tend to want to be "mothered"!! It's so terribly narrow minded for them to think that it couldn't possibly just be that YOU are adorable, and HE adores you!! Oh and also I have a Hello Kitty collection as well! I have a set of mugs, a couple of thermal cups, and several knick knacks and figurines! I have done my purse shopping at Toys R Us and found a couple of super sweet HK purses! I really enjoyed this video! My husband is 15 years older than me. I've had people say things like "Do you have Daddy issues?" Or did your Dad leave when you were very young? Well no I don't have Daddy Issues as I had a great dad who I was very close to growing up! Oh also - he must have money.......eh no not that much! My own brother said to me when he found out "Aoife you're not as mature as you think you are." I was 23 at the time Joe was 38. That made me laugh! Joe is the biggest child I know - proudly wears his star trek uniform at any given opportunity and is just a total messer really! 15 years on we're still together and still having a laugh! So I just ignore the silly comments. Although he does feel a bit miffed when people assume he's the grandfather of my children instead of their father!!! 😂

" SO TRUEE!! Ppl just dont get it! My boyfriend is 17 years older than I am, which is more common than your situation, so I can imagine that people are even ruder to you than they are to us. We get referred to as being dad and daughter all the time, and I hate it. The only thing that was a little weird for me in the beginning was that his grown kids weren't much younger than I was. But they were absolutely awesome with us being together, so I think that helped a lot. After 10+ years of being together, I don't even think about the age difference anymore...except when someone makes a rude comment. So, I definitely get where you're coming from.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I'm in a non sexual open relationship with my girlfriend and other people are always like "you don't have sex?!?" I had a boyfriend that was 20 years older than me when I was 22. I was asked how much I charged on more than one occasion. The people that muttered about us, well, that's up to them, we were happy. The sad part about it is I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology and according to Research Studies I had to read while I was in college the majority of the people who have a problem with women being with younger men, they don’t have a problem with men being with younger women. That is to say, that they are Women who are ignorant, and Sexiest against their own gender. All that they are doing is promoting sexism and vilifying women, for not all women are so rude, judgmental, sexist, and ignorant, and I cannot believe some of the very personal questions they felt compiled to ask. The questions, and comments, like the ones you mentioned adds credence and facts to the belief that all woman are okay with double standards based on the fact apparent in their ignorant, judgmental and offensive behavior based on the comments and question those people especially the women asked you.. Also, I wonder they are the same sort of women, that based on such appalling behavior and beliefs that are keeping women’s rights in the same way that we were in the Victorian era, as well as, promoting the myth that woman are not as intelligent as men, which is why a lot of our society thinks it is just fine to treat women like second-class citizens and it is people that have the audacity the ask such question and make such offensive remarks, which is why women are paid less than men for doing the same when they do the ame job with the same skill level. . If you want my opinion, I quite pleased that yous and David are in love with each other and that you bring each other laughter and happiness. I was only married once and it was horrible he was older then I was and he was and probably still is the world’s biggest baby, and I supported him and ontop of that he stole my saving and ruined my credit, which has taken me years to repair. I know live with a wonderful man who is younger than I am I love him and he loves me unlike my marriage he makes me happy, and makes me laugh and is always there for me when I need help as I am disabled…. So, I guess to make it a shorter answer congratulations to both of you for finding the special person that brings love, joy, and laughter to you lives…..
