Im in an open marriage almost 20 years. The majority of the time we, give each other our undivided attention. But everyone gets tempted sometimes, if you can resist, good for you, but there's nothing wrong with giving in every few years. As long as we tell each other about asap. Also, whenever 1 OH who has objectively messed up (cheating, theft, boundary-crossing, fam/friends abuse, etc.) tells the other that they "they don't want to fight," I always have laugh at the Main Character Syndrome required. You don't get to decide that; fighting is a "2 Nos, 1 Yes" kind of situation. It's 1 thing to say, "Can we please not do this here, let's talk about it later," If your OH starts b!tching you out at a party (& leave early if they won't wait), or to say, "Can we pls not do this today, & circle back tomorrow?" when you're feeling sick/exhausted/intoxicated & know it won't be a productive conversation at _that_ moment. Or even "Can we please take a pause, & pick this up at [time]," when you're getting overwhelmed + need time to _compose yourself_ so the situation doesn't devolve into you pointlessly having a breakdown, & at best truncating the conversation + at worse it needlessly escalating, for almost anything, as long as your honour the unpause that you set. But that that's for stuff like overspending, forgetting a commitment, 3rd party tensions, or eating the last of something in the fridge. Saying, "I don't want to fight, I just want to sleep," in response to your partner reacting to learning you've been unfaithful, is not your prerogative nor w.in you practical _power._ You can be in the middle of vomiting & if your SO wants to rail at you, they're going to be doing it. It's like the only case where if a partner snaps + gets ugly + says every worst thing they've ever thought about you, they're w.in their rights, as long as they only do it _once_ & don't make it a pattern of abuse. Story 2; couples counselling and therapy for cheating only works if the cause was neglect or issues in the relationship, not 'I need variety'. If she 'needs' to have sex with multiple people, she needs to be with someone who is okay with that, not disregard OP's need for a monogamous relationship. Late to the party but wanted to share. Story 1: Midway I was thinking, "Hmmm, dude is shocked this friend of his did this? I bet they're hooking up on the side and he's really shocked because he's afraid she's gonna tell everyone at the party." And then update: "Wow, I was close. Did not expect a second baby momma." And the real reason why I wanted to comment: MANY years ago, my girlfriend (later wife) decided to go to a Halloween party with her as a pumpkin and I can't recall I what I went as. What kills me is we didn't even THINK to go as Peter Peter and her as the pumpkin. We did get a lot of "Wow, nice costume (gf/wife), did TJ help you stuff that? (wink, wink, nod, nod)."

I swear, every other story on here goes like: I am 27 year old women dating a 42 year old man. I work as a ICU nurse and my bf is unemployed with no interest in getting a job. I've been waiting since Oct of last year to see this cardiologist. They finally call in Feb and I have an appt in March. They call today to say they need to reschedule because the doctor who only works 2 days a week will be out. I'm very sure my PCP office is incompetent and won't admit that this is their error, but I'm but I'd like to finally see a specialist and get reassured. This is so annoying.

That happened to me with my gall bladder op! I had the date fixed, time off work, and they changed it to the week before, with a couple of days notice because the doctor was going to be on holiday on my original date! And my next operation had the date changed 3 times!
