It's fine for a starter enclosure to help socialize it. It will outgrow it in 2-3 months though

It's a baby I think a 40 gallon is ok for a while. But later on in a year then he's gonna have to be in a 6 foot enclosure or bigger one.

Peach Throat Monitor can get to 3 or 4 feet Argus Monitor can get to 5 feet And Quince Monitor can get to 4 feet to 4.5 feet
