I just did a return 3 weeks ago and I asked for the refund either as an exchange in store or to go back on form of payment (I paid half card half cash) and they credited half back to my card and told me they could NOT give me cash back even though it was the original form of payment so they said they would send me a check from Chanel and I just got it the other day it took 3 weeks to receive my money back .... I love Chanel so much but they treated me so poorly ( not just the check part ) they kept questioning why I returned the item and were acting like I was too poor to be there ... I had only had the bag 4 days and had changed my mind because I had just got a beige medium classic flap that same week too and I had bought a beige coco handle and I felt like I only needed to keep one they were such a similar color so I returned the coco handle ....I had never had an experience like that ever in my life at a luxury store..... it makes me so bummed I collect bags and have for years and I just hate being looked down on especially for no good reason . Apparently only spending 7.5k on a medium classicflap that week makes me broke for not buying more or keeping the coco handle 😂😂😂 now I dont want to go back to that location but I live on an island in Hawaii .... so not many options

Oh no, my SA is great. No need to change boutiques either. I just like to share my own ways of strategizing when planning all future purchases. If an unfortunate mishap happens, like production flaws, I take them into a sort of account as being part of the drama that is and always has been and always will be CHANEL. haha!

I bought a lopsided and crooked trendy cc sight unseen during lockdown. It was horrendous quality despite being boutique fresh from a new shipment. The lambskin was also terrible. In Canada, you only get a store credit. At first I was told that I will only get a store credit, but I was firm that 1. I didn’t see the bag in person and 2. It’s not like I changed my mind, it’s a defective piece. The manager thankfully gave me a full refund. I mean, I did spend more right after lol, but I didn’t want to be carrying around $8k in store credit with the risk of losing it lol because boutiques don’t keep it for you. And yes, in the past, I would always ask for a replacement instead of taking a store credit because prices always go up. So this way you’re guaranteed the bag for the same price. In this case, after seeing other trendy cc bags for this series and how terrible the quality was, I’d rather wait until the next series. I’m flabbergasted by the quality for this season. So many pieces were unacceptable and I have no idea how they even made it to the floor. Perhaps it’s rushed production in efforts to catch up with backlog. I’d be weary of purchasing anything from this season or 31 series. Like you, I also like to return things asap . I took that trendy cc back the next day. And yes, always a good idea to keep note of the serial number haha! And yes, we all want to preserve our options! Hope it all works out.

Sorry to hear you had issues with your trendy cc. But glad you got a refund. I am not sure what to think about the 31 series. So far I have only wanted one piece, which is the foldable tote. The other current bags don't really speak to me that much. I wonder though, how does the raw material purchase and quality control really look like at chanel? Do they buy better leathers every other year or every year? Do they skip a season when it comes to purchasing better wools and other materials? Is there a strategy there as well? I wonder...

Sophie Shohet was having issues with the stitching on other bags as well. For that money there should be better quality control, 1800 euro for a tote...I'm sorry, I can't.

Hi I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who’s dealing like that with my Chanel SA ... always making plans and playing games 🤪😊 Quality control with Chanel is a little bad. I just ordered my chanel classic flap GHW lambskin because of the lock down in France, my SA sent me the bag threw DHL (my boutique is the 31 rue Cambon one and I live in south of France in a city where chanel doesn’t have a boutique), when I unboxed my bag I saw 1 scratch and one little issue with the black color. The scratch was so obvious, I did not understand how my SA who sees bags everyday could send me a bag with a scratch. So I sent a message and told her the issues, and she told me : ohh I didn’t see the scratch, I was like come on, I’m not able to come by myself, to control the bag and to buy it because of the lock down, I trust you to choose the best piece for me, and please choose it like it’s for you, and for the price that I pay it has to be perfect. And she apologized and told me if I want to return the bag and I told her you know what nobody’s perfect even a chanel bag I’m going to buffing out the scratch, I will massage the leather everyday with the glove and with my breathing air, I will see if it’s going or not. If it’s not going I will returned it. And I did it for two days and now there is no more scratch and no more issue with a small spot of decoloration and it proves me that I can remove a scratch from a lambskin Chanel bag.

I completely understand you, one of my SA’s can be like that too... and you don’t want to mess up your relationship. Some SA’s do get upset with returns. Great strategy! I recently had to return because of defects too but I told my SA I would take a bigger price item instead so I don’t mess our relationship up.. I have other items I am waiting for as well. 😊 Luckily I passed on it. It doesn’t look durable...Does your SA watch your channel?! I’ll be looking out for your update. 💕

Not sure my SA watches but my SA for sure knows about it. In my case, they all know that I am a return customer so they do not make a hassle about me returning a flawed item. They also know that I am not the type of customer that buys something and then the next day changes their mind about the purchased product and returns it. They know that when I bring something back, it is for a good reason but still, I do not like it when a return is necessary because when it is necessary, it always involves product flaws and issues. Its kind of embarrassing for the brand as well to acknowledge that they have issues with quality control. As for me, since I am a return customer, a voucher is fine. I always find things at CHANEL that I want to buy so for most cases I don't need the money refund. As for the foldable bag, it is actually quite durable. It is not as fragile as it may appear to be.

@@SuperDacob Exactly like me, I don’t like to purchase and return unless there is a defect. It is embarrassing for a Chanel! Through the years I have noticed more and more defects. Recently I received another item, it’s not defective however it has been probably handled more than I hope and it had so much scratches. I had to return it as well. I prefer shopping in person but it’s really not possible for me these days.... I am hoping to get my second reissue this year. I watched your video probably 3x on the reissues so I know what I want😉 How are you liking your pearl scrunchie? Thanks for your content 💕

Hello Roy. Thank you. No, I am not afraid. My SA knows about my channel and I am always transparent about my experiences of the good and the bad sides of the brand. The tactics and relationships between a customer and a sales representative of a brand are topics that one should not shy away from. This topic should be spoken about freely and experiences should be shared so that things can get better. Being transparent on public platforms about experiences like this one is in my opinion a good thing because it helps all parties grow and evolve. It can potentially help the sales representatives as well as clients.

I do not have those issues. When I buy something, I keep it. I don't change my mind later. I know what I want. This video is about a return due to production issues and flaws. I think for sales associates, it is more an issue when clients repeatedly return products cuz they change their mind about what they purchased. I say this because it is harder to sell the item later that has already in some way been used, be it that the protection sticker is off or what have you. A flawed item, on the other hand, gets sent back to the brand and the boutique gets a refund for that item.
I totally understand when someone just dreams about a brand and loves it,but we shouldn't forget that we are customers after all. Their items are not free,so in my opinion ,a customer shouldn't tiptoe anyone and shouldn't think what to do.SAs are paid to think instead of us and should be properly trained ( I don't blame them,I blame the house of Chanel,which obviously has turned in a joke). These things must not happen when they up prices constantly.Despite the dreams,the price should include quality control and respectable customer service,not stingy tactics! If they give up on that,and they refuse you as a customer for your opinion,than you shouldn't bother at all with them! I respect heritage a lot ,but I can't bother instead of them if they decide to stain it.I would demand respect as a customer,no matter where I shop. Good luck

No, its not. Its very light and the fabric is double sided and quite sturdy actually.
