The Patient Story

Күн бұрын

Chelsey Gomez was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 28. After undergoing treatment she reached remission but after 3 months, scans revealed her cancer came back.
In this cancer vlog, Chelsey shares how she sought a second opinion during her relapse, after seeing a series of red flags from her oncologist like medical gaslighting and withholding medical information, how she processed her cancer relapse and her experience of undergoing stem cell transplant.
She now champions being a patient advocate and trusting your gut when it comes to your medical care. She also highlights the need for mental health support during and after treatment and the power of art and community in healing.

Ok, please don't be offended, but I HAVE to say something. You ARE an inspiration because you're gorgeous, strong & courageous! I've been really sick for a while, nauseated, almost nonstop, and exhausted & have just come in from having lab work that I really don't feel great about . I can tell you that I only hope to have an ounce of you within me if things go where I'm concerned they may. I just want to say thank you for everything because it does and will make a difference. God bless ❤🙏🏻

So glad you trusted your gut and made sure you got checked out. And I’m glad you were able to find a team that made you feel cared for. Definitely so true about the cancer ghosting, it really caught me off guard at first but just makes me appreciate who stayed around even more. Thank you for sharing your story Chelsey, wishing you well!

I just love your candid humor and realness - and was so happy you finally kicked that first doctor to the curb. It is ok to talk about cancer, it is ok to talk about all parts of it, it isn't all Hollywood sunshine. It does suck. And that is OK. Glad you are doing so well!

I had breast cancer. I know the loss of hair, but loved my various turbins and scarves! And I have to say, you are gorgeous! I guess I was so lucky I loved my oncologist! My late husband had multiple myeloma and had a stem cell transplant as well as a bone marrow transplant.

You are amazing! The «friends» whom cannot take you being ill, - let them go. They are not there for you now, then they will not be there for you an other time when life gets rough. I am so happy for you having a living and caring husband. He sounds like gold! Not easy to be on the side, either. I Wish you and your family allergener best ❤️

Thanks for sharing this. I am currently going through treatment for non Hodgkin Lymphoma. I sometimes feel like you when I go to the treatment center all the other patients are much older and sometimes I feel I need to speak with someone going through the same thing. Thanks again. 🙏🏾🙏🏾 It’s funny you said Florida was shut down and the Governor said he kept Florida opened throughout the entire pandemic.

So glad you got the 2nd opinion. I am glad that you left that onco from hell, seriously you should sue him. Not telling you what to do, but this man needs to be stopped so that he cant hurt others. Maybe report him to your insurance and the medical board for malpractice. I wish you the best in your healing journey.

I’m finding through research and my own data surveys that individuals who had cancer or who were in remission and took the vaxxines are having cancer return. Also, there is an alarming rate of individuals getting cancer for the first time that are “wildfire” cancers and “rare” cancers at young ages. It’s very alarming and horrific. I hope one day there will be justice.

You must live in the U.S. My doctors here in canada are trying to convince me to allow them to suicide me (injection costs two bucks) instead of treating me (chemo and radiation would cost the system thousands). (We have the MAID program- medical assistance in dying) My life is not worth more than two dollars, apparently. Its not very nice to have doctors and nurses encouraging you to SUICIDE. "We can book you in; you'll be gone within the month". Im 34, still relatively healthy, just a bit of vision loss and minor headaches. And they want me DEAD.

This is horrifying 😳. The western hemisphere governments are perpetrators of mass genocide against their population's. Listen, your life is sacrosanct by God Almighty. No one should ever ask you to end your life until God decides. This is murderous, sinister, evil, disturbed agenda coming from your governing elite. Omg to have your own state wanting you dead is a declaration of war against its population. You must all rise up against this evil. The world must fight back about what's happening. It's beyond terrifying. Please don't 🙏 ever think you are not worthy. You are amazing and a miracle of life. There is only one you. You are special and extremely important ❤️.. God bless you from the UK. Stay strong 💪 fight back.
