As a vet tech - my team and I ALWAYS sobbed after giving out an FIP diagnosis. That was during the time where a cure did not exist. I cannot imagine treating my OWN cat and knowing with all of that it may not be enough. You’re insanely strong for not only going through this but sharing it on your platform. I’m very happy to hear that Elle has recovered and that there is now a cure.

Lauren, as a certified veterinary technician I want you to know how unbelievably proud I am of you. Oh Will 😭He is an actual angel when you gave Elle that first shot. And remember Elle isn't angry, she just doesn't understand why Mommy hurt her and can only communicate through growling and hissing. This could not have come at a more perfect time. My cat was diagnosed with FIP about 3 weeks ago and I thought we were going to lose her. She’s only 15 months old. We just started treatment and I’m not lying when I say it’s HARD. It’s devastating when she cries but I know it’s helping her and will allow her to live a full, happy, and healthy life. She’s already doing so much better in just over a week. I’m so happy this worked for you and baby Elle. This gives me so much hope ❤

Lauren-my mom's cat died of FIP last year. The vet didn't know much about it and he was not diagnosed with it until it was too late. Getting medicine was a nightmare and at times we didn't know what to do. This is an incredibly stressful and not accessible disease to treat. Thank you for spreading awareness. How dare anyone criticize anything about you, especially your animal. You don’t have to answer to, or apologize to, anyone about anything in your life. We are a puppy family and fully understand how you feel about your sweet little baby. I have had people tell me that we acted ridiculous about our baby boy and when he passed away we were devastated. Our two grown sons came home to tell him goodbye and to participate in his little memorial service and his burial. He is resting under his favorite tree in the back yard and his little face is engraved into his headstone. He has been gone for 3 years and I still grieve for him. Take care of your little kitty.

I cried right along with you in this video. It really sucks bad, hurts our hearts to have to see them in pain. Know that you are an amazing momma to Baby Elle. She’s a very blessed baby to have you. You saved her life and you’re wonderful. FIP is so scary and you won this battle! So many people would never do this for their animals and I think you’re wonderful. I’ve had a few very sick cats over the years, and I do everything I can, and am currently trying to pay off thousands of dollars in debt from trying to help my babies. I can relate to how you felt going through that, so difficult to see them so hurt but it was all worth it. She’s doing SO good now!! My cat Thor passed away September 17th from a sudden illness, called non-superrative cholangiohepatitis. He seemed fine less than 48 hours before, (was playing with toys, eating, drinking) I had to help him cross over at the ER after they spent 26 hours trying so hard to save his life. His disease was unusually aggressive and my veterinarian is still shocked and as upset as we are, and doing research on it. He had never seen anything like it, and fully expected that when we found elevated liver values in his blood work a few weeks before that, we would just be treating with medication for the rest of his life, and that he would live normally, when he suddenly became very ill, and I had to rush him to the ER, we were waiting on test results to determine the medication he would need. 💔💔 we are still devastated and can’t believe this happened. Cats truly are incredibly good at hiding illness until it’s often too late. 💔💔 we love and miss him so much. 💔💔

I can only begin to imagine how hard this was to go through, and then relive making this video. In 2020 my family dog was diagnosed with IMHA (a rare and fatal autoimmune disease), it seemed to have come out of nowhere and the vet told us he’d maybe live through the weekend if we were lucky. 3.5 years later and he’s still with us at 15 years old (he’ll be 16 Christmas Eve). It has been a hard process having to give him medications, shots, and treatments, and you are so strong for doing this for Elle and not giving up on her! Pets truly are like family. Glad to see she is doing much better!! ❤

This healed something in me just a little bit. My precious baby who was my whole life got FIP but we didn't catch it in time (first two vets didn't know what it was) and he passed away at the emergency vet 3 months ago. Lauren: I’ve been in the vet field for years. I’ve had to give painful shots for years. Seeing an owner have to go through the pain of giving their baby a shot that is painful broke my heart. I lost a kitten to this on my 21st birthday some years back. 2 days from symptoms to surrender because the vet had no recourse at the time for treatment. 😢 So glad there was an option for Elle and that it was effective! Hopefully this (and other recovery cases) helps encourage the approval of the treatment for future FIP patients. Proud of you for doing the hard thing for the right reasons.

Sweet sweet Lauren ❤ Broke my heart seeing you cry when you were giving Elle her shot. I can relate because my precious Maltipoo Franklin was diagnosed with diabetes & we didn’t know that he was sick. He had to take insulin shots twice a day & it was so hard learning how to do that. I felt like I was abusing him. I thank God for my sister who was such a rock through it. She did all kinds of research & was able to help him so much. He went blind which was really hard. He passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2021 & it is still really hard without him. I’d spend every cent I have to have him back. I’m glad Elle has such loving pet parents ❤ God blesses those who show kindness & love to His little creations. Thank you for sharing Elle’s story. I hope through her many kitty’s can benefit.

I was balling as I watched this video. As a dog owner, I almost understood how you felt. They are part of your family. About half a year ago, my dog had to have one of her leg amputated. I pray Elle will continue to stay healthy!!

When you first started talking about this on your channel, I knew it was FIP. I have 3 cats that are my babies, and I get so stressed even having to give them medication. I can't imagine having to give them painful injections. I'm really proud of you for how you handled everything, and I'm happy you had the financial resources to be able to get the treatments Elle needed. Hopefully they become more affordable in the future so that more people can manage paying for them.

Lauren Wow you are so strong, girl!! I don't have a cat but I have a dog who has been my baby girl for 15 years and I can't even imagine going through something like this as a pet owner. Seeing this video made my cry and I am beyond overjoyed to hear that your sweet baby has recovered! To have such a compassionate man like Will is also a blessing!

This had me crying ALOT! I had a white siamese cat who died from kidney failure. They gave me fluids & syringes to give her twice a day, so I know EXACTLY how you feel. It definitely takes strength to do this, it is not easy the first nor the last time. I had to hold the syringe/IV in her until she received enough fluid. My mom had to come over twice a day and help me. I lost alot of sleep because of worry/stress. Then my cat started having breathing problems, so I took her to a diff vet & had to pay to get the fluid buildup removed from her lungs because the other vet had me give her fluids twice a day instead of once! So they were wrong. It was horrific, that I was responsible for her almost "drowning." So I also understand feeling responsible for what our pets go through. She end up passing away on Thanksgiving Day 3yrs ago. This video brought me back to this time & I cried alot watching this. I lost 2 more cats in the past year, one had a tumor and the other I think also have kidney failure. I had to put them to sleep. After watching my princess suffer, I will never let another pet suffer again. It takes alot of money to cure an animal, unfortunately. And the stress it puts on us and our beloved companion can be extremely overwhelming. If I have the money, I will pay for whatever it takes! That's our babies! I take Gabapentin every day for nerve pain; ever since I was involved in an accident. It works for nerve pain, with no side effects. It is not a narcotic, so I feel "normal" while taking it. Unlike other meds that can make one feel "out of it" or high. You did great Lauren!! You are amazing!! Strong loving woman you are. G*o*d bless you & all of your love ones & companions with good health, abundance, joy, peace, love, goodness. I looked up that tiki treat you give her, which has Xanthan Gum in it. Which is basically a form of mold. I just recently learned that because I looked it up, it being in alot of GF flour & foods for humans. Mold can lead to parasites, which can lead to diseases. I learned from Princess' experience, to give our cats wet food everyday because the hard food is hard on their kidneys which can lead to kidney failure. So I give my 2 cats "fresh pet" in the morning & a can of wet food mixed with purified water each evening. I also leave out dry food & purified water 24/7. Cats swallow their food whole, unlike dogs. That's how they are created, so hard food is not ideal. They need wet food and water to help their kidneys process the hard food. I'm glad you give your baby wet food & snacks. You are a good living mommy, doing the best you can for Elle! You are loved Lauren. 💗🥰💗🤗

Thank you for not seeing it as vet bills when it came to your cats health ❤ so many people would have just either abandoned her or make her sleep. It is the worst feeling to see your cat in pain, I have two, the smallest one broke one of his back legs, we had to operate him urgently, they cut part of his leg, so now one is shorter and will forever walk wonky. He had some complications after the operation and it was just so consuming to see him in pain. He’s now healthy and fully recovered and walks like a potato bag with a wood leg. It was very expensive and many sleepless nights just hearing him cry, but so worthy to see the healthy again. They deserve everything 🥰

I'm in Vet Tech school and I just want to say I'm so proud of you for what you did for Elle. She is one lucky kitty to have a mom that is willing to go above and beyond for her. You are so strong for giving the injections yourself on your own fur baby. I know it was difficult but I also know it was all worth it to see her were she is at today. It took me a while to watch this bc I was dreading the hard parts. Watching you cry bc you don’t want to harm your baby with the injection was very difficult to watch. It was heartbreaking but you saved her. We will do whatever it takes for our fur babies. God bless you both. ❤
