Loved this! Nothing is more aesthetically pleasing than classics organised by editions 😂 Penguin English Library editions are my fave, then probably Oxford World's Classics. I also have Wives and Daughters and am very keen to read it because I loved North and South 😊

Glad you enjoyed the video! North and South was good but I think I loved the BBC adaptation even more 😀 I also really enjoyed Cranford, so I'm also looking forward to Wives and Daughters 🥰

This was so enjoyable. Your presentation style is fabulous. Some amazing books in your collection. A Month In The Country is a true gem. So quiet and thoughtful. I am making my next video on it. Can't wait to see what you think of the book. Thank you for a great video, Ania.

That edition of the manifesto is super nice! The penguin intro's on Marx and Engels books are usually bad, so you have the best edition. Its great because its so short, only 30 pages or something? Yet the ideas hit so hard. I think I've gone over it maybe 6 times in my life now? Though its not the most mature Marxist work, its still great.

This was such a fun video to watch! I really liked seeing your beautiful collection! Also, I completely understand what you said about Dickens. Personally I really love his books, but I've heard a lot of people saying the same thing as you did!

Thank you! 🥰 I'm glad you're so understanding when it comes to my approach to Dickens, sometimes people get angry when you don't like some classic author's books 😅

Omg hahaha I wasn't too fond of Frankenstein either! I finished it but felt that Victor Frankenstein was soooo whiny and kept complaining about his misfortunes (which he brought upon himself tbh) and I'm not sure if that was the intention. I think it shined more for the concepts and questions it introduced in the whole 'who is the man and who is the monster?' thing than for its plot haha And ahhh I'm glad you liked Slaughterhouse Five! It's one of my faves and a very memorable read :)

Hi, where are you from? Are you Polish? :-):-) How have you learnt English so well? Are you living/studying abroad in the UK?
@AniasBellJar3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am Polish and I've never lived abroad! I learned English in school and when I was a teenager I started watching a bunch of British and American shows which helped me improve my English.

May I ask, Ania, why you actively try to avoid infidelity in literature? It's not an uncommon theme. But your response to it was unexpected, as opposed to any other number of hot-button social issues. What is it about that issue in particular that is so (for lack of a better word) triggering? No hate, just genuinely, respectfully curious.
