The Herschede 92 model 228 is probably my favorite so far of the grandfather's. I wonder when the maker finished if it was hard to say goodbye to that one. Thanks for the video.

It's an interesting collection. Thanks for sharing it. You could work on your camera holding technique.

There's a technique? I will look that up on KZbin. Funny you would say that. That's what viewers from my wife's channel say also. Every time I do the filming people complain about it. Thanks for liking the content. I never really thought about people actually watching my videos. I think I will also work on know what I am going to say before I record it. I noticed that I am kinda boring. Thanks for inspiring me to do better!

What beautiful clocks. I landed here looking for a "fall asleep" video featuring a grandfather clock ticking in real time (rather than the manufactured ticking sound on loop), is that something you might consider doing with one of your clocks?

What made you develop an interest in collecting clocks? Do u ever sell them?
@the_clock_guy5 жыл бұрын
I love fixing things....anything....I also love history, challenges, puzzles, mechanical things, and antiques....Clocks just seemed to fit. I sell some clocks to get money for others I want to keep. I am sort of a perfectionist so anyone who buys a clock from me is getting a great, serviced and inspected clock at a good price. You can see them on eBay at: www.ebay.com/usr/the.clock.guy

The Clock Guy Well, it’s a great item to collect and fix. My friends Ecuadorian father used to fix elegant watches. Apparently he was a fine restorer. I remember he showed me a few and it stuck with me. Had I known several years ago that u fix clocks, I would have sent you from Manhattan Bette Davis’s mantle clock that tipped over when I was watching a friends house who was holding it for someone. It tipped over in slow motion and did not work properly after that. She sent it out to be fixed. They say antiques and used items can have energy connected to it. Funny, right? Scary too tho. Lol!! Enjoy your hobby! It’s truly a fun one. U picked an interesting one. I like to restore some things too. I can restore old photos. I should make a business of it, but I don’t have a lot of time to do many of them now. A few here or there. 😊

Love your clocks! What town do you live in? I used to live in Dunellen.
@clockdude15005 жыл бұрын
The chimes on your herschede are out of sequence, the chime barrel needs to be advanced a few notches. The quarter hour should start with the highest note and end with the lowest note. New leather pads in the hammers would quiet it slightly as well as greatly improve the sound of the tubes.
@the_clock_guy5 жыл бұрын
You are correct. I am the only one in the house that notices it. I keep meaning to fix the sequence, but I know if I get in there I am going to play for many hours. I will change the leathers someday. That is the reason I haven't done just a Herschede video yet. Thanks for watching. I know they're tough to get through, boring, shaky, rambling, etc. I am trying, little by little I hope they improve. I really want to thank you for your support. I have only 450 more hours of watch-time to go in order to get monetized. Fixing clocks for free doesn't pay very well, so I am hoping to make a little money from KZbin to fund my passion. If I charged people what a clock repair shop would charge 99% of the clocks I save would go unrepaired. I can't let that happen to these sentimental treasures!
