Thanks for sharing that. It's sincerely appreciated. It is definitely tough for any parent to have a child come, especially when they don't expect it. And for what your parents went through prior to you coming out, that is extreme. I'm glad everything has worked out for you. Again thanks for the kind message. Regards.

Dude THANK YOU! For letting me know that I am not alone in being gay and a metalhead. For the past two years I have becoming more and more comfortable with myself as an outcast in the gay community. I don' like Top 40s Pop/Hip-hop music but it seems as though I am the only one. I have never met anyone else that is gay and likes metal or anything even remotely to do with rock but thank the powers that be that there are people like you in the world! Thank you for sharing your story UR awesome dude

Judging by the state of your room, you also buck the cleanliness, neat freak cliche too!

It's good to know that there are other gay men out there that break the stereotypes and have the same taste in music as I do. Awesome video.

A MONOGAMOUS gay man! Well done! When I came out I said to my parents "I can't have a healthy relationship with someone if I don't have one with you and I would like a healthy partner so I thought I would let you know I have sex with men" It didn't go down well. I too was 17 and now I am 38. My parents lost 2 daughters and then I came out. That was tough for them. It all worked out great. Good on you for sharing your story on you tube. Cheers from a fellow non typical Gay Melbourne brother.

We like to be in moshpits cause in a mosh it does not matter who you are. When at a metal show you are treated as a brother/sister of metal. They do not care if you are gay, str8, black, white, asian, etc. Being gay and also loveing metal is the best thing in the world. lol

loved ur coming out vids! you covered so much stuff. i can relate totally to ur lifestyle, i was a butch rock metal head car guy type (altho im into many types of music now). too bad U & I couldnt come out to the guys back then, i wonder if i could have got support from them. prolly not in the 70's 80's huh? lol

nice to know there are more guys like me out there and as a fan of both punk and metal its hard people. Especially with all these gay icons like Lady Gaga and all these drag queen shows which i dont understand at all but anyways great story dude.

yeah for sure, agree. Makes me wonder though, why do "metalheads" like me love jumping around in a mosh pit with other sweaty guys??? LOL

@Arkman1754 Thanks man. I'm still Thrashing out, playing drums in my band like always and having a great time. I would be cool to be able to meet more people like us but it seems there are few and far between.

@kienai6 Thanks so much for the comment. It's much appreciated. To me there is nothing better than bone crunching Dimebag riffs that make you want to stomp peoples heads into the cement. ie, peoples of those who listen to top 40.. figuratively speaking. lol. I can appreciate why people like that stuff and that cool but I like it heavy.

@separatesix Generally I just hang with cool people. Most of the crew are cool. I don't have room in my life for people who don't get it. When they do, then we can chat. To be honest, most people couldn't care. No matter how many thrash patches they have on their sleeveless denim vests.

It's cool to see the non-steriotypical gay guys, I think if people take the time to watch, you can really effect alot of people. Best of luck : )

I agree with and have had very similar experiences. I actually went to a gay club weekend, which is rare. I hate the music and I don't like guys that act like girls. I like men. That's why I'm Gay. I'm sure there is loads more out there like us and we will meet them as we go.

@BlogsofWoolhouse I would never judge anyone for their lifestyle choice. But you know, no one will judge you if your clothes decide to go back in the closet.

@kienai6 Always have... I prefer to be slammed in a pit of (mostly men) than dance like a girl to Britney. But each to there own. Thanks again for the kind words. You will discover that there are loads of people like you out there.
