prayerposition1 hey there. I have the Oppo 4k player, which I absolutely love but right after I bought it, they announced they were getting out of the 4k player market. It's a shame because they make great equipment. I have an LG 65 inch OLED TV that's been great as well. I'm going to be doing an updated room tour so you'll get to see the whole set up. 😀 I also picked up a really inexpensive region free 4k player for my living room. Niraj S they don't. It's really random because you can get a new release and no slip. Then I'll get something older and, slip. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Sometimes I wonder if the people who work at the shipping places take them off because there are sellers on eBay and they get pretty decent $$ for some titles. Nice collection, I have only about 22 UHD's so far. Money has been tight for me these days I will be upgrading my AV receiver in next couple of weeks. The one I have at the moment can accept 4K but not compatible with HDR and no atmos. Once I have all that sorted I am going to get on building my UHD collection. :) also be getting the dawn of the dead one coming very shortly too. So next month will be good month for me really.. But considering how long I have had my 4K TV. 22 UHD's is not actually all that many. Got hundreds of blu rays though, 4K upscale actually looks surprisingly good. Thankfully I have a Sony UPB X800 and has 2 hdmi outs so got to send video signal separately TV (To get the HDR( and audio to AV receiver atm but (phew) won't be doing that for long. Can't wait. I watched your video to see if you had more UHD's than me...of course you would haha! Only thing that is kind of peeving me off is this dolby vision, my tv can't do dolby vision and I don't think my UHD player does either. It is annoying as think I am upgrading stuff and yet there is something even better agh! But I reckon probably most people will have HDR 10. I have that christine one on steelbook. Picked up all the carpenter steelbooks, so those are some of my 22 hehe! Big carpenter fan for many years so I was dying to get them...I had to .

It wasn't until I needed to replace an old TV and receiver and upgraded my home theater- that was it. That being said, I still think Blu-ray is a very stable platform and isn't going away. Leslie stovall hey there and of course. Keeping in mind that it's just my personal opinion, I don't get into specs and such. This is one of those movies that has a lot of CGI and I just think that those special effects look better on the Blu-ray edition. Something about how they looked on the 4k just felt like it wasn't as sharp as the Blu-ray, if that makes sense. Otherwise, it's a nice 4k but if I'd had the chance to preview it before buying, I would have just stayed with the box set and skipped the 4k. Some people might not care about that but I found it a bit distracting. Again, just my opinion. Thanks so much for watching and I hope my answer was helpful. 👍👍👍

Thank you for some excellent quick reviews. It gives me a better idea of what to buy. I wish you made mention of the audio quality. Watched Saving Private Ryan last night in 4 K. The HDR gave made the colors more lifelike quality. The gain was still there but I believe that was intentional. However big improvement was in audio quality with Dolby Atmos over the blu-ray. It was worth upgrading just for the sound. Bullets were coming in from every direction including above my head. Sound really made a difference.

Jim F hey there. Funny you should mention the sound. I actually don't speak much about sound because I've been doing some experimenting. I'm admittedly not into the tech specs on 4k- there are plenty of channels that focus on it and I don't like to speak about something unless I feel I'm fairly confident to defend/explain my opinion. What I've noticed is sound tends to change more than overall picture quality depending on the equipment used. Example: I upgraded my receiver in my main theater room and there's not a disc that sounds bad, muffled, soft or muddy. Take that same disc upstairs to a different setup and I have to push the receiver to be able to hear just the dialogue clearly. Picture quality, however, remains solid. So I wonder, is sound dependant on the disc itself, what we use to drive it, personal preference or a little of each?? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ That's why I'm cautious to enter that arena. I hope that makes sense and I'm certainly open to chatting about it and hearing your thoughts. Thanks so much for watching. 👋👍

that's a wonderful 4k collection,steph i have yet to start my own 4k collection let alone a massively huge Bluray collection which at this point, both provide digital the previous attempt that i tried to start collecting blurays was a couple of years ago the test ones were during Ultraviolet's existance: and the titles were : hugo, adventures of tintin, and i think rango as well and they're all children's titles i think a lot of these choices do have potential i liked the trailer for atomic blonde charlize theron as a spy sounds quite interesting probably better than her darker role in the huntsman films apollo 13 is a fun movie tom hanks is great in pretty much any role central intelligence sounds like a fun choice kevin hart and dwyane johnson are funny the rambo movies are cool, so is terminator 2 there is so many in this 4k collection to many to name but a lot of them do have potential as great reccomendations

Hey, Steph: I think I've seen more movies in this collection than any other one. I actually really enjoyed A SIMPLE FAVOR even though I've pretty much forgotten the entire plot. :) Believe it or not, I never got to see The Accountant or Across the Universe, sadly. Apollo 13 is on of my all-time faves. I also love, as you well know, Bo Rhap & Green Book. And Coco, of course. I've seen that 4X already and will watch again. I'm one of those who didn't like Downsizing. I think maybe it's because the trailers made me think it was something utterly different from what it turned out to be. I also hated Ex Machina for some reason. I just remember being utterly bored. Bad Times at the El Royale was really good. The Nun wasn't so great. But yes, I agree with you on Phantom Thread. That was really good!! I do like the Pitch Perfect movies; not judging. :D And love the Purge series, which as I think I've said in the past, was a surprise to me that I'd love them so much. I never did see The Revenant and I think I had a screener. Couldn't bring myself to watch it. Some of my fave classics in there like Goodfellas, Grease & ET! Who doesn't love Spiderverse? Me. lol. I did really enjoy Sully. BTW, saw Red Joan with a friend last night. It was good, but neither of us loved it. It lacked something, but we weren't sure what. But not bad. Anyway, I've blathered on long enough! Great collection!

NipoteZia hey, my friend. You know Downsizing is one of those that always stands out for me as a film that was ruined by the trailer. They totally mislead the audience and I think that left people really confused and disappointed. Totally understandable. As for Spiderman- being a little tomboy since birth, he and Batman were my favorite shows growing up. So I guess I really liked that Into The Spiderverse took us in a direction I'd not seen. I've watched everything Spiderman over and over so for me, tons of nostalgia. But I can understand that it doesn't resonate for everyone. I enjoyed A Simple Favor and I still remember some of it. 😂😂😂 I'll have to get you to see The Accountant because it's really good and, I think, right up your alley. Thanks so much for watching. Steven Houghton hey there. Is it worth upgrading- 🤔🤔 I'd have to say it's a totally personal decision that also depends on what equipment you're using. I would never tell anyone to run out and buy a new 4k TV, 4k player and 4k receiver if all your gear is in good shape. I upgraded when my receiver died and my TV was shot. Honestly, Blu-ray is a really stable platform and some are so good, you can't even see the difference with the 4k. I haven't seen Endgame yet but someone was nice enough to ruin it by posting a big picture with spoilers on it over on Instagram. Ugh. I might just wait to see it at home. I haven't seen the new Twilight Zone but I loved the original so I'm looking forward to it. Thanks so much for watching. 😀👋👋✌️

I was an early adapter when blu-ray won the HD war. The day it was announced I ordered my first player from B&H in New York. I was so excited when 4K was announced, but that was short lived. The comparisons I have seen and reviews I've read just haven't convinced me the difference is worth the investment. Now, reading the recent article in The Digital Bits of the "massive physical media sales drop", I am convinced that this format is definitely the last format for physical media. As much as I hate to admit it, discs won't be manufactured in 10 years at all and maybe sooner. I just have to figure out a way to back-up my hundreds of blu-rays in a lossless format that won't require a basement full of harddrives. Streaming is inevitable and it sucks.

Charles Knowlton I understand the concern as I know there's been somewhat of a panic since Samsung bailed on 4k. I really think everything with physical media is cyclical. I mean for years, vinyl was all but dead and now it's a hot ticket again. Same with VHS. There's a large community online of VHS diehards- and good for them, enjoying what they love. No doubt things will evolve as time goes on but I feel like physical media will always have a place in society. Some folks might opt for streaming but I think people like us will still seek out physical copies of what we love. We could find they make fewer copies or there's less inventory on store shelves, but I'm hopeful we'll at least have the option. But hey, that's just my opinion. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I was actually on Digital Bits earlier reading the list of 4k titles scheduled for release. I'm not, actually. Funny you ask because I was just thinking about it last night. I still think Blu-ray is the sweet spot for HD media. I'm typically not disappointment by Blu-ray quality but sometimes, the upgrade to 4k is so marginal, I wonder if it's worth it. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I'm more picky now with what I upgrade.
