My Cringe Teen Metalhead Phase

Wow, this video is reaching a TON of new people. I’ll pin this comment to clarify: I am NOT saying I no longer listen to metal music, nor am I saying I regret this part of my life. We all sort of “need” these awkward teenage phases to build character and grow into adulthood. Just wanted to add that so nobody thinks they’re being attacked.

I was kinda the opposite, and I have been that quiet chill dude since my childhood, everyone was surprised that I listened to metal

Mine was a cringe punk phase. But it ended up being a gateway to prog metal and rock, so I appreciate the journey.

Haha what type of punk? Hardcore stuff or “pop”?

@GrantH Somewhere in the middle. Like the more mainstream of the hardcore side, like Sleeping with Sirens and MCR. It started out as my rebellion of choice against my Christian suburban parents, and I ended up really digging it haha.

For me it was a cringe anime phrase during middle school. I never even watched a lot of it I made myself watch a lot of anime because I thought everyone watched anime. I made my profile picture on my SCHOOL COMPUTER to a image of naruto and the other characters I dont remember. And my school did a thing to where we cant change our profile pictures anymore so now when I do stuff on my school computer I'm reminded of my cringey middle school self.

I’m in my junior year and I’m really known as the “anthrax guy” due to all the anthrax stuff I own. I do have long hair but I do look approachable and don’t take myself seriously (just like anthrax). Of course there are moments where I question my identity but I recently started to rotate the stuff I wear. It goes from band shirts,cartoon and tv show shirts to blank shirts. I have a bullet belt I thought I was cool but now I look at it and I think “wow that thing is ridiculous” haven’t worn it in about a year and don’t plan to wear it again. Cool video!

That’s interesting to hear about the bullet belt. I always wanted one of those as a teen and to be honest it would still be fun to wear one as a gimmick once in a while but yeah, everyday use would be super weird lol.
