After watching this about 5 times I finally wrote down the steps in my notes if anyone needs them 😅 STEPS: 1. Wash hair using COLD WATER with natural shampoo 2. Olaplex No 3 for at least 10 min 3. Shampoo Olaplex out 4. Condition / masque (Jamaican masque) 5. While hair is soaking wet, apply Shea Smoothie from mid-length to ends using praying hands and scrunch (want squeeze sound) 6. Can section hair to make it easier 7. After you work the product through, you can start manipulating curls in sections that need it by twisting around finger and scrunching 8. Scrunch again with used T-shirt towel (don’t dry it out) 9. Take a TON of gel and use praying hands to smooth down the hair (don’t break the curls, just want to lock in the ones that are forming) want squeeze sound 10. Take t-shirt and scrunch out some water 11. If you want volume, add root clips now 12. If you’re going to diffuse, diffuse first then let hair air dry the last 15% 13. If you’re hair feels terrible and crispy bc of the gel that’s OK, it formed a cast 14. Take out clips if you used them 15. Scrunch hair with t-shirt towel, roll and break the cast in your hand 16. Can use some oil at the end of scrunching to prevent frizz 17. Put fingers into hair and shake the roots for volume 18. If you have large clumps just break them up and twist around finger

And people ask me why I don't wear my hair curly very often...it's a LOT of work! LOL! But this has definitely given me some ideas on how to work with the curls. I will have to try the clips on top since it's really the top and front of my curly hair that I don't like. The back and sides look ok and somewhat full but not so much in the front. I have low porosity hair and my hair holds so much moisture and I hate feeling my hair drip on me. I apply my protein free leave in while I’m in the shower. I put my hair in a microfiber turban for 20-30 minutes and then I put my curl products in. My hair will be wet enough that you can hear it when in scrunch but not so wet it’s dripping everywhere. I do amika curl cream and then Aussie instant freeze gel and i get super shiny curls that way. To get more even curls I apply my products in three sections. Left side, back, and then right.

I style on damp hair, hair that's been in a microfiber towel for 30-45 min. to get most of the wetness out. It works for me. I don't have to use a lot of product either, just a few dollops for classic length (bum length) hair. It saves on product and works just as well, if not better (for me in any case).

Thanks so much Idoia! You can use a little more serum / oil to tame that frizz later in the day. Or try using more gel in the routine next time. Make sure your hair is 100% dry before scrunching out the crunch too. Hope this helps xx
@lisaburke39555 жыл бұрын
So, do you not "plop" your hair in the tshirt? You apply products in the shower and then squeeze out excess water with the tshirt and then again after applying gel? Also, the Shea mask - is that a leave in? And then apply the Shea smoothie? I have very thick somewhat coarse (asian) hair so I like the Shea smoothie! Thanks for the video!
@Hairromance5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, thanks for watching! You're right, I don't "plop' and just use the tshirt like a towel and squeeze water from my hair. The Shea mask is a rinse out mask. I leave it on for about 5 mins or so and then rinse out. Then I apply the Shea smoothie. Hope that makes sense 😊 x

Curl clipping is something I haven’t mastered 🤣. I find it annoying. Have you tried Innersense hair products? They’re sold in salons in the USA and on their website. What do you think about glycerin?
