When my babies were small I was so stuck in survival mode longing for each lil season to be over (“when will she start sleeping through the night?”, “when will she take one or two real naps so I can get things done?”, “when will she be content playing so I don’t have to have her attached to me at all times?” etc.) and that’s probably my biggest regret. I didn’t allow myself to be fully present and just feel each moment and I excused myself with “oh she’ll never remember this anyway”. And that’s true. But I will never forget. Their childhood is also your motherhood. Immerse yourself in it. Soak in it as long as it lasts because babies don’t keep!

Pretty sure she hears every word Ozzie says. I told my mom once about a recurring dream I had about my dad taking me to a baseball game. She said it wasn't a dream but he'd never taken me to a game. When I was very young, probably between 6 and 9 months, my mom worked the evening shift at a hospital. My dad would listen to some kind of sporting event on the radio (early '60s and we had no TV) -- mostly basketball it turns out -- and I'd fall asleep on their bed while he listened to the game, read, and waited for my mom's shift to end so we could go pick her up. All that stuff that happens when we're young sticks around in our minds.

Ro is so sweet and you both are wonderful parents. There will be good days and not so good days and that's ok. It's how life is no matter what part of it you are in. My first child was awake every 3 hours at night for the first several months. It was grueling. My second child woke up two times a night. Now that was heaven. It goes to show you that every child is completely different. All you can do is roll with it and make the best of it. Before you know it, they will be all grown up and with children of their own. I'm 63 and have adult grandchildren now. It blows my mind.

What helped my baby with eczema was coconut oil mixed with Shea butter. Generous slather after bath time. Also we did an elimination diet (including mom because of breastfeeding) of no common allergens. No dairy, no wheat, no eggs, no nuts, and no seeds-for baby and mom. One month on this diet, then you can add one allergen back to see how rash responds.

Thank you for this! I have a newborn and trying to navigate getting art time back into my schedule. Looking forward to when routines are more established. This video is a great reference and I hope you keep making more!

I have followed you since almost the beginning and I've had babies since then as well so it's so cool to see how you're getting on now. You have such a beautiful baby! It can be tough to get art time in during this stage but it gets easier. Many blessings to you ❤

Congratulations on your beautiful baby! Wanted to add that the elimination diet 100% worked for us. Our 7 year old hasn’t had eczema since but if we do try those foods that bother her, she will have a flare up. Also bathing is good for healing eczema, don’t skip daily baths. Just use water only, and pure soap at the end of the bath right before removing her so she isn’t sitting in the soapy water. Make sure to put the coconut shea butter mixture on while the skin is still wet.

I so remember those days (mother of three sons). While the time may seem to drag on occasion, it goes by so quickly. You'll be glad you have this video and she will be too when she gets older (such a little cutie). Teething really upsets the routine at night. And yes, come evening, all you want to do is stare at a screen and not think or do. Thanks for sharing.

She is so cute. Being a mom is a lot of work isn't it. I worked full time when my children were babies so I didn't get to spend as much time with them as I would have liked. Cherish these moments, they will go faster than you think.

Baby skin, consider oatmilk soap and 100% cotton washcloths . I sympathize as at 54 , I am also sensitive and use baby products for my skin.

Just a side note… the noise machines have new data about them. It doesn’t allow their brain to have silence, a sort of “reset” if you will, and it is harder for them to develop good deep sleep habits because the brain has to process that noise constantly while in sleep mode. Just an FYI ❤ my daughter likes hers for her baby…but I had to share just in case
