I've been using 'Estee Lauder Double Wear Light' and my skin has reacted exactly the same way - with little sore red bumps on my chin and forehead! I've discovered that 'Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish' foundation is every bit as good - better in fact, as it doesn't break me out and I also find its finish is a lot softer and smoother looking than Estee Lauders. Please try it! :)

Funny about your problems with EL Double-Wear Light. I had the same issue, but didn't figure it out until I changed to BB cream during the summer. All of a sudden, no breakouts. I now use Skin 79 BB Cream (orange). (I do have to use a powder with it to give me a little color since it is quite light.) Not a breakout since.

Am very interested to hear about the foundation ingredient because i used to wear double wear every day and had the same problem as you, now i only wear it when i go out (once a week) and the next day my skin is really congested. Looking for an alternative for nights out, I love the coverage and the fact it is so yellow toned x

omg.ive been figuring out why ive been getting those tiny bumps under the skin these past couple of months! thought it was the result of me not cleansing properly.but it might be the foundation!i notice that my skin reacted to mac foundations as well, never thought it would do the same with the EL :( cant wait to get a follow up on your research and what the ingredients might be. the givenchy one looks really light though, dont know it would be able to cover up my scars.but, you're cool Ruth ;)

You should try boots no 7 stay perfect foundation. It seriosly lasts flawlessly 16hrs on me and is just as perfect looking as high end foundations.

I had a really awful reaction to Estee Lauder Doublewear...the original one I think, though it was a sample I'd been given. It was horrific. I'm really glad I didn't buy it before finding that out! if your breakouts were on you cheeks this would lend itself to being allergy related as opposed to hormonal as those types of breakouts are mostly situated on your forehead/chin areas! Whereas allergy generally shows up on your cheeks, so its quite possible you were having a reaction to an ingredient! btw adore you videos and you :) xxx

Hi Ruth, do you know if that Givenchy foundation has alcohol or added fragrance to it? I'm in the market for something like it (currently using the estee lauder invisible fluid makeup but I loved the Chanel perfection lumiere except the alcohol and fragrance from that broke me out so I had to switch to the estee lauder one).
