@boruj79308 жыл бұрын
I agree. I don't think anyone has the rights to push their views and beliefs down other peoples' throats. What I am trying to say though is that as a Muslim (woman) in a society made up of entirely of Muslims I can tell you that education is very very important. I do acknowledge that some other counties aren't that blessed, but pinning it on the religion is ignorant; its the society's fault and their presception of Islam.
@subhashbose21868 жыл бұрын
+Boruj Alzamanan again. Look, your religion is whatever you want it to be. Any religion is basically an ideology which deserves to be criticized and ridiculed but people shouldn't be killed for it. Till the time Muslims keep on saying that my book is perfect and others ain't, till that time large portion of their population will be violent. Your argument starts with a book and I m asking you to keep your book away. Religion is made for humans and not the other way round. Right or wrong is not for you or your book to decide and stop blaming the society, society has been very kind towards Muslims and again plz keep your religion personal. Your morality and honesty is far more valuable to the society than your books morality. Do you think leaving Islam or Christianity or hinduism should be punishable by death?

He wasn't claiming issues with a religion, he was exposing those of patriarchal societies. Yes, particular religions are coupled with patriarchal societies e.g. Islam but that doesn't mean Islam is what you should be fighting, it is the patriarchal culture. (Islam isn't patriarchal either so don't use that excuse please, cultures can manipulate the religion for their own desires.)
@ktshamim72559 жыл бұрын
MariamPaulx Islam is very clear on the birth of a female. [Qur'an 16:59-60] "And when to one of them is conveyed the tidings of the birth of a female, his face darkens, while he suppresses his inward grief. He hides himself from the people because of the bad news he has had: ‘Shall he keep it in spite of disgrace or bury it in the dust?’ Verily, evil is that which they judge."

+KT Shamim Nice to take things out of context, first of all it is 16: 58 - 59 and secondly the verse is pointing out the hypocrisy of the arab pagans being ashamed of having girls when they happily attribute daughters to god.
@ktshamim72559 жыл бұрын
+TheIVYRAVE Verse numbers may differ by 1 yes. Nice you checked it out. How is it out of context please tell me? [Qur'an 4:125] "But whoso does good works, whether male or female, and is a believer, such shall enter Heaven, and shall not be wronged even as much as the little hollow in the back of a date-stone." [Qur'an 4:20] O ye who believe! it is not lawful for you to inherit women against their will; nor should you detain them wrongfully that you may take away part of that which you have given them, except that they be guilty of a flagrant evil; and consort with them in kindness; and if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing wherein Allah has placed much good.

We women from western countries have no idea how our fellow sisters live in darkness in such patriarchal societes. This always comes as a shock! I've just read Malala's story and from the very beginning it was clear to be that she became such an icon because her father never shut her up, but always encouraged her not to be afraid to speak her mind. Incredible as it may seem, her mother is an illiterate woman. He was humble to say he simply did not clip her wings, he did much more than that, he inspired her and believed in her and now she's an inspiration to the world.

I'm so overwhelmed by all the dirty facts you so candidly and calmly expressed in your speech that I can only say that my hope for the salvation of the tens of thousands of women and girls from the clutches of the crushing patriarchy and ignorant cultural norms of their societies was restored by you, Mr. Yousafzai. Thank you for the great work done so far, and may you find the courage and resilience to keep it up for as long as you live! :)

Love this man, his wife and his lovely daughter. It is people like these who are changing our society and are still going ahead with their cause and campaign for children's education and gender equality. Malala is my age and she has accomplished a lot more than I can only dream of. But she is what she is because of her parents and the support she got. She's a brave girl with a kind heart who is uniting people from all over the world. Good job, Malala. We are proud of you. Love from Pakistan.
