Hello everyone, my name is Shay, I have been clinically depressed for 2years. It started from trying an edible. Then panic attacks, dissociation, and the severe depression. I want to tell all of you that you are brave. And that wether your here today or gone tomorrow, you will always matter. You do matter.

As I am listening, this quote by R.D. Laing comes to mind, “There is a great deal of pain in life, and perhaps the only pain that can be avoided is the pain that comes from trying to avoid pain.”

The great psychiatrist Carl Jung said the same thing. “ all neurosis comes from the attempt to avoid legitimate suffering.”

Hi Margaret, I think and I guess I live this reality that some of us can never be totally free from it. In some of our cases, it is a chronic condition. It may vary in magnitude in certain moments of our life but it will still be lurking around to grab us again in moments that makes us more prone to it. I guess in such a case, an everyday practice of awareness and acknowledgement of our condition and not forcing ourselves on days we don’t feel like works the best. Also, the longer we live with this condition the longer we have a chance to be consciously make choices to deal with it and identify our condition on a regular basis. I am learning it and it’s really hard but then I am getting there. Detaching from that moment by focusing on my breath works the most for me. Peace and love to you ❤️
