Hearing your story brings me so much hope and faith. I went through depression about 3 years ago and it definitely was a battle that God saved me from. If I had stayed in that season, I know I wouldnt be where I am now. So happy your doing better and grateful to have you and your wife as an example of a growing Christian couple. @@simrahsabiha6378 To feel better reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. For a healthier life sit on a chair, back straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. Slowly the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Day or night, when taking a walk, sitting in the park, when reading, on the phone, before sleep etc sit or lie down and observe your breath with eyes open or closed. . Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

As someone who has anxiety disorder, I relate to this on so many levels. Feeling like my thoughts and emotions control me, and like my life purpose is gone, like I'm missing from my own life. I also struggle with turning my life into school/work. Going to therapy has helped me so much. Feeling like I can relate to someone, even through a screen gives me hope. For everyone saying “that’s not depression”: I think you could be right, he didn’t mention clinical diagnosis explicitly but honestly how could we know all the details of what he went through in several years of his life. Either way thank you for sharing your knowledge/ experiences! I don’t think he means any harm and is just trying to share his story for others who might feel the same way. BTW... I don’t think he said “I’m now cured of my depression because I did x, y, & z”, I think he simply meant that he had certain outlets that helped him cope in this time which is great. At the end of the day, we just never really know because we only know what he’s willing to share !!
