Note that as soon as the starter is removed. It has to be turned 180 degrees before pulling it out.

Just did one.... life saver this was... thank you... When I was sliding it in I had a friend turn the wheel/axle.. it will help pull it in there by the ear of the starter.. Had him help align the motor mount bolt when lowering the motor... Wish I did a video of this also..

A lot of people tell you all about how they got it in and out. Never have a good shot of the struggle to get it in or out of place. This was the one that got the job done!!!

How do you get it up over the axle though without removing it? It has to come out no? Im doing mine and its unreal they say 1.5hrs thats ridiculous man.
@joshuaanothereraseddad Жыл бұрын
It's all in the way you have the starter turned and you have to really jack the engine up. Literally, like until you hear the heat shields crunching! Then just keep fiddlin with the starter until it comes out. It will come out, but it takes some effort. It can definitely be done without removing the axle. Just jack the engine up a whole bunch.

@joshuatzonfortheslaughter I do have the engine lifted up pretty much to the max. I'm just not wanting to have to take out the axle and swing the knuckle and everything out if the way. I'm at it steady though. Thanks for the video man if you could do it there's no reason why I couldn't right? Just need to find the angle on the dangle. Where I'm getting stuck is on the aluminum portion of the mount thats attached to the engine.Thanks again man I do appreciate it!🙏

Do you only need to take off one engine mount bolt? About to try your technique without breaking my car even more lol

Correct I only removed the nut off the mount stud. Sorry for the delay.

so this is the awd model right? and you were able to slide it out?
@joshuaanothereraseddad Жыл бұрын
Correct it is the X AWD and it did come out as Nissan suggets. Sorry for the delay in responding. For some reason KZbin was not sending notifications for comments. I hope you got your situation resolved.

Does the sedan axle fit the Awd coupe one too?

Sorry, but unfortunately I do not have the vehicle so I can inspect it to see how I would tackle it. I do know the bolts that attach the inner axle hub are a royal pain to remove! You'll most likely want to start by removing hub cap from wheel if there is one, then with wheel on ground break free axle nut. Jack it back up and then remove wheel. From there remove all brake components: caliper, bracket and rotor. Probably need to disconnect abs wire too. After that chances are you can pop spindle from lower portion of the strut. At that point, it may be possible to pull spindle far enough out to get axle out of spindle/bearing. That part can take some work though. Then hopefully from there it's just figuring out how to get the bolts free on the inner axle hub. I would begin with soaking them for 24 hours with Fluid Film or something similar. I apologize I'm not able to offer concise directions, however I hope you are able to get your project accomplished. Shalom.

Is that the only way to get it out
@joshuaanothereraseddad2 жыл бұрын
No, others have had success removing the catalytic converter crossmember and removing it from the rear. Others have indicated they were able to remove it by taking out the CV axle. This one came from NY and had entirely to much corrosion to attempt the other methods. I found the best removal and installation to be as Nissan states. It requires a little finagling and it's a slightly tight squeeze under the CV boot, but it is achievable. The engine raises much higher than you'd think. I hope you find success with your endeavor.
