How did the interview go?

Hey! Thank for this video, truly the first of its kind on KZbin, as far as I know. It looks like they added 1 more question: 4. As you have read on our website, the MuSe program includes two components in addition to departmental placement: participation in a weekly educational seminar series and training in gallery teaching and leading public tours or talks. How would these additional components support your learning objectives and/or professional goals? * I'm honestly stuck on this question, any last-minute tips? Or tips for anyone else in the future for this question?

Hi Myron! Ah yes, I forgot that was a question when I applied too. I think this one comes down to your own personal and professional goals. For my answer, I knew exactly how gallery teaching would help me down the line in my own goals. Take some time to do some self reflection and think about what skills they would give you and how you would apply them to your own goals. Please feel free to shoot me a message on Instagram or email me and I'd be happy to help you work through this further.

Very helpful video! I was wondering how long the time span was between receiving a notification about an interview and the actual interview. Thank you.

Hi Carolina! I'm glad it was helpful. I was notified about my interview early March and had my interview maybe 4 days later (there were a couple time changes due to the museum closing due to covid that week)

@@ChloeLandis Thank you so much for the reply! I was also wondering how in depth you went about the internship info when asking for past professors/employers for a recommendation?
@ChloeLandis4 жыл бұрын
@@cg88555 I think it depends how well those individuals know me. Most know my career goals well, so I just gave them the link to the internship with the deadline. Sometimes I'll spell out specifically why I'm applying for something, so they can highlight that along with specific accomplishments in their recommendation.

Apply for internships in your home town! The Met loves to see how you’re able to be apart of your local art community! You might even get a better internship at home that in the met. That’s what happened to me!

@@stephanievaldes9519 hey did you intern at MET , curious because of the useful tip you gave :)
@stephanievaldes95193 жыл бұрын
@@sukh4000 Hi! Unfortunately I didn't intern at the MET but I did end-up interning at museums/galleries in Miami which is one of the hotspots for the art world. I also spoke to many art professionals and they extremely encourage prospective interns for major museums to be apart of their local art scene. Its better for you and looks great on your resume! But don't let the shiny star power of the MET make you believe they are the end all be all of art museums! There are other internships happening at the same time during the MUSE one in NYC like the Whitney. I felt like a failure when I didn't get the MUSE internship but I ended up getting something better at home!

Hello dear, I have a pressing question regarding the interview : How long before your internship did it take place? As I am applying from Europe, I got quite worried about this part as traveling to the US back and forth is definitely not uncomplicated and can get a little costly...Just want to prepare for all options! Many thanks! Really appreaciate your reply!
