I've been in several interviews with Apple, and I'd like to share a few insights: 1. The questions you face depend on the interviewer. More behavioral questions indicate their interest in that information. No behavioral questions suggest the opposite. 2. While GD&T knowledge is valuable, remember overseas manufacturers often don't use it. In your role, you might not need extensive GD&T tools. The questions reflect this. Proper GD&T application is crucial, but focus on designing products that require less GD&T while maintaining key characteristics. 3. Interviewer attitudes vary. Some may come across as personal or borderline rude. Roughly 33% of the time, you might face a somewhat abrupt interviewer. While not inherently rude, delivery matters. Many Apple engineers prioritize efficiency over a comfortable interview setting. On the flip side, around 66% of interviews are neutral or conducted by genuinely nice individuals who ask pertinent questions. 4. Expect technical questions aligned with your role, but anticipate some unrelated ones too. Product design engineering encompasses various subjects, from electrical to manufacturing. While some topics you'll encounter, others you won't. Apple interviewers might pose "fundamentals" questions that touch the edges of your role. For instance, if you're interviewing as a soft goods mechanical engineer, you might face questions about pressure vessel systems. While technically part of your fundamentals, daily application could be debated. 5. The interview process involves multiple factors influencing progression. Any mistakes, no matter how small, can halt your progress. Striving for near-perfection is vital, especially with major companies like Apple and Google. Room for errors is limited. If you make a mistake, consider that there could be others who didn't. Small differences in performance are how candidates are evaluated. Moving through the process doesn't guarantee leniency. To these corporations, it's often wiser to hire slowly and terminate quickly. That's why hiring takes months and firing takes weeks. The standard is near-perfection. Don't feel bad about stress, rejection, or mistakes. Contrary experiences are exceptions, not the rule. I could create a comprehensive video about applying for product design engineering roles and the associated challenges. However, in my view, only 50% of your efforts affect job landing. The final decision is often partially related to performance. Focus on what's within your control, study hard, and do your best. Giving your all, as you likely did, means you've done everything you can. Good luck to you all!

Tamer, I remember watching your whole interview process and I was skeptical that Apple might reach out to you, specifically for the design challenge, that may have ticked them off. It sucks but I think you went the smart route by just deleting the video and carrying on with your life than get into a fight with a trillion dollar company. As a mechanical engineer myself, I would love to see the follow up videos of you explaining the answers to the technical questions of the interview process. Thanks for the update and you really are providing valuable info to persons in similar or related fields.

if he was applying for software dev he might have a higher chance, Apple is not too concern when it comes to product engineering take a look at the iphone 5 design, they have been using the same design language until iphone 8, Apple is not about aesthetic on the product but they are a software and user experience focused companies.

@@silentbyte196 Awesome, you just told me why the brand image of Apple is so powerful and why the company is successful. But let’s talk about the actual products themselves. To me, their products are MEDIOCRE. A similarly priced android device will run laps around an Apple device. Yes aesthetically the products are perfection, but there is more to an electronic device than being pretty!! I can’t figure out why somebody as educated as Tamir even cares about that overpriced luxury crap. If Tamir said he was trying to apply for a job at Boeing or SpaceX I’d actually be extremely impressed. Those companies actually move technology forward unlike Apple that’s been gradually making phones worser and worser while charging more and more money. Trying to work for a serious technology company is something I would love to watch Tamir attempting. But this content that's making a big fuss about trying to work for Apple..!?! F*cking Apple...!?!
