@@ADHDPatrick Hello. I have an update! I had to stop taking it because my nausea was too severe. I threw up every single day and then when I switched to night doses I started waking up at around 3am to throw up and I couldnt go back to sleep after. It was horrible. Eventually, I was taken off and now I'm on cymbalta. I heard a lot of troubling things about the horrible withdrawals you can get from cymbalta, but at this point (since i've tried maybe 6 medications) I'm kinda desperate for something to work, you know? My experience with this medication is good. Before getting on it, we tried to other SSRI's which did nothing for me. After that we tried mirtazapine, which worked, but unfortunately the effect faded after a few months. Now, we're trying this, and it's the only SSRI so far which has actually worked. I feel a lot less anxious. Unfortunately, I do have nausea, but I'm seeing my doctor this week to see if we can sort that out. I also feel like I might be sleeping a bit worse than usual, but as long as I follow common sense bed time routines (relax before bed, no phone/gaming/whatever one hour before, etc.) I get enough sleep.

Just took 5mg for the first time ever. Also, I have been taking Wellbutrin 300mg for nearly a year now. Will update later, maybe in a month. I did read that Welbutrin makes the plasma levels of Trintellix about twice as much so 5mg would be like taking 10mg a day.

It works for me. I use less Xanax now. I use 4 drops. 5 drops is to high. Because of my autism im sensitive for medication. It helps to be a bit more flexible. I can handle a bit more changes and noises. I use drops instead of pills because I could start really low. ( started with 2 drops) when I took 5 drops I couldn’t cry, I was very dizzy, hartbeat was below 48. Felt depressed and my legs were tired, had a headache.

This drug gave me the worst insomnia by using 5 to 10mg for 2 weeks. I am off of this med for 5 months but still have insomnia. I just cannot close my eyes and fall asleep. Found some more people suffering from the same thing.

Yeah apparently this medication cause this for some people, pretty weird that you still have this and only after 2 weeks. I wonder what causes this in this medication, SSRI usually make people more sleepy than cause then sleep problems.

@@onuryavuz3255 hello sorry to hear that. That medicine really was harmful for my dreams and sleep time. I had only 5 mg. I prefered to stop it. I had even stronger nightmare when stopping it but after 4, 5 days of nervosity i felt better than taking the medicine...

Yes I’m eating more because of the same feeling as you. I get nausea too if I don’t eat something substantial before taking the pill. Still not satiated and I’m eating more food. I might try something else

Thank you for sharing! I am on my 3rd week and have not noticed a difference and feel awful. I had to switch off Lexapro (which worked wonders for me) because I was forced to abruptly stop after discovering it physically damaged my liver! I miss Lexapro, but staying optimistic as I have only been on this new drug for 3 weeks.

these kind of medication can create lot of side effects, it is possible that it might cause irritability and nervousness, I did not experience that. SSRI medications like these are taken alone in my knowledge, definitely consult your doctor about these issues

Trintellix costs upwards of 400usd on my insurance plan. When I took this medication my doctor gave me free sample sized bottles because I have found 5 different antidepressants to be ineffective.

I havent used them together, I asked this from my doctor once, he said that it should not be a problem...Definitely check in with your doctor about this combination. I only used Lexapro with Concerta which was great for me.

Hello Raymond, I had none of those side effects on Trintellix, even my doctor said that Trintellix doesn cause sexual side effects. Lexapro I used 5mg dose on which didnt affect my sexual wellbeing, but 10 mg dose I felt was too much in that department.

Sorry to hear that, anxiety with adhd/add is a tricky thing, because most ADHD medications are stimulants, so they can trigger lots of anxiety especially at big doses. I use concerta which is basically like ritalin but long lasting so the effect lasts for 6-8 hrs and is steady, there is no peaks or valleys. I know that Strattera is non stimulant medication which is used for treating ADHD, maybe it will cause less anxiety..Definitely consult a doctor on this issue. Wish you luck!

I have panic attacks since 2006 I was prescribed seroxat (ssri) I took it for straight 11years but my platelet count went down so I was switched to prozac and tapered it off ....however the panic attacks came back 😫 with severity so my new physiatrist prescribed be Brintellix (vortioxetine) 10mg I just started 3days ago hope it works and take me away from panic attacks.

Hello Ricky, you are right, the good thing about this medication was that it did not cause me any sexual side effects. It supposedly also works on dopamine not only serotonin so I can see why it doesnt cause sexual problems. As for anxiety, I used this medication for my anxiety, it did not increase anxiety for me. It lowered it a little, but definitely did not increase it. Thank you! You stay safe too :)

I have exactly the same problem! I started 3 weeks ago and am taking 10mg a day now, in drops. I usually easily sleep 9 hours per night and now I wake up after 7 hours, dripping in sweat and completely disorientated by weird dreams. This has been going on since I started using this medicine and I am getting more tired everyday. My doctor told me this side effect should subside soon, so let's hope it does.
