Hi John...excellent list ! The Neil Young album is my fav by him. So good ! I love The Living Colour Album as well as The Warrant , Judas Priest and Megadeth. Some of my other favourites from 1990 are AC/DC Razors Edge, Cinderella Heartbreak Station, INXS X, Queensryche Empire, Alice In Chains Facelift, Depeche Mode Violator, Scorpions Crazy World and Extreme Pornograffitti. It was a fantastic year in music. Thank you John. Merry Christmas to you and your family ! . Chez

No clue you might be fond of Razors Edge lol...AC/DC, Eric Johnson and Cinderella were my # 11,12,13. Cinderella had a phenomenal 4 album run. I had Hell On Wheels and Nobody's Fool in my top tracks for 86 on Grant Arthur's channel.

Thanks Chez! Great choices! Ragged Glory is in my Top 3 Neil Young albums along with This Note's For You and On the Beach. Yeah, X is very good, love the singles off that, especially "Bitter Tears". I should really pick up Violator, wow I loved those singles too. I may still have "Personal Jesus" on a cassette single. It certainly was a fantastic year. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!

@logancollins7097 Cool. 2 great albums followed by 2 good albums. My first thought when I heard Hell On Wheels was how that guy was gonna have some vocal issues sooner than later.

I am doing my top albums of 1990 next year, and surprisingly we have very little crossover. I have my top 9, and am trying to dig through my honorable mentions for that last spot. Love your list, I was surprised Faith, Hope, Love was an honorable mention as big of a Dug Pinnick fan as you are. I also thought the Black Crows, Shake Your Money Maker would be in your ten too.
@JohntheMusicNut4 күн бұрын
I love King's X's music but I am not that high on Faith Hope Love. If it was 2014 or 2004, Shake Your Money Maker would be Top 10 for sure. I am more into their rootsier albums these days.

I've had 'Times Up' on cassette for some 30 years now. I always thought it was an excellent album. Nice guitar work.

Thanks Marty! Oh no doubt about that. Vernon Reid is amazing! Cheers!

I only own three of your top 10. I like a few more of the HM's. I would pick Eric Johnson Ah Via Musicom. AIC Facelift. Ernie Isley High Wire. Steve Vai Passion and Warfare. Gary Moore Still Got the Blues. Adrian Belew Young Lions. Michael Lee Firkins debut.

The Johnson album is superb.

Thanks Byron! Great picks! Ah man, I would've mentioned Ah Via Musicom but I have never owned an original CD or cassette of it. I had it on a burned cassette back in '91 or so and yeah, that's an excellent album. They played "Cliffs of Dover" heavy up here on Rock 107. Cheers!

Gotta include Priest and Jane's Addiction.. Death - Spiritual Healing / Kreator - Coma Of Souls / Wendy + Lisa - Eroica / Slayer - Seasons In The Abyss / Alice In Chains - Facelift / Don Williams - True Love / Joan Jett - Hit List / Sacred Reich - American Way were some others I liked...To me Death never had a weak album in their unfortunately short existence..On the other hand, the most recent Kreator CD is terrible but they were on a roll with mostly good releases until last year.. Unique thing about the Wendy & Lisa album is you hear sounds, grooves that would become prominent in the 90s be it alternative, grunge, soul and it's loaded with wonderful songs like Staring At The Sun, Strung Out , Skeleton Key which is a masterclass in bass.. Didn't like Seasons as much as the 2 previous Slayer releases but it's awesome....

Great picks here Eric! I thought about Facelift but I no longer own a physical copy of it. Same thing with the Hit List. I never really checked out Death. I have to check out the Wendy and Lisa album and I echo your thoughts on Seasons in the Abyss. Cheers!

@@JohntheMusicNut When I listen to the debut from Wendy + Lisa and Eroica I hear many familiar structures and riffs, yet the similar sounds are mostly from after that time frame.Other musicians loved them for sure. They did an album produced with Trevor Horn that wasn't released due to the record company cutting back or shutting down ?, idr but the demos sound ethereal..I liked Death best on Leprosy + Spiritual Healing when they were like Slayer with more technical playing, the later more progressive works aren't as much to my liking..Seasons had tracks i disliked such as Temptation and the King lyrics & playing seemed to regress afterwards, yet the Hanneman material remained strong...I overall didn't like that many 1990 albums, but the quality of those 10 i picked make up for the low quantity. Razors Edge, the Eric Johnson CD also. Ratt - One Step Away was a great track on a mediocre album.

I think l like your honorables better than your top ten! 😉 Toy Matinee?! “Holy deep pull, Batman!” With the late, great, Kevin Gilbert. Rock on, John! Rock on!

I remember ECW Wrestling using Man In The Box..Paul Heyman wasn't even paying Sabu,Nancy Daus, Dean Malenko so I doubt Cantrell got a check from "Paul Dangerly" as Lance Russell called him..

Is your Cherry Pie signed ? I think you’ve told me about this!

Yes Jake, this is signed by the four original members still with us and Robert Mason. I bought this at one of their shows long after Jani had passed on.

@@JohntheMusicNut shame it’s not signed by Jani too. You know just before he passed, I thought “man, Jani sure is looking and sounding great and seems to be doing better than he has in a long time.” His death really shocked me.
