Hi there, Great channel, I was wondering if the pogostemon stellatus ‘octopus’ is the same as pogostemon quadrifolia? Great channel I love how you’ve done your corners in your fish room was it hard to do? I’d love to adopt the idea in my upcoming fishroom. Again great channel , be well mate Regards Duzzy 🇦🇺

I like this plant a lot in my low tech tanks. In the high tech I had to trim it twice a week or it would take over the 40b. I loved the almost purple tint it would get under the leaves. Great job with the video!

A good beginner plant requiring a lot of clipping to maintain healthy mother plants. Also a very good nitrate sponge.

I just found your channel. I subbed, but it looks like you haven't posted new content for 1 year. Hope you're ok and hope that you produce more content. It's crazy that I've been in the hobby for 10 years and haven't heard of this plant. I ordered a couple earlier today. This video was very helpful.

I started using this plant as well. It's a great growing plant and is doing excellent in my main tank. Excellent video. Do you have any experience growing this in sand substrate tanks?
@OtterCreekAquatics5 жыл бұрын
I have grown it well in sand mixed with pea gravel. If you have deep enough sand bed you should be just fine. The pea gravel helps it root in the substrate good
@AquariumThoughts5 жыл бұрын
@@OtterCreekAquatics I'm just going to need to try it in a sanded tank when I rescape one of my tank

How does it do with goldfish? I have a couple of smaller fantails in a 55g and am looking for something to use as a background plant. Thanks!
@OtterCreekAquatics4 жыл бұрын
I've never tried it with goldfish but the leaves are long and skinny, not very thick, so I'm sure they would eat on it. You could try a few crinum for background

@@OtterCreekAquatics thanks. I know that jungle Val fights with some swords and definitely hinders my banana plants. I had to move them to a different tank without Val. And the westeria I have doesn't seem to well with Val also. I did some research because I want to do the walstein ... Walsted . Whatever method. I only have five different species of plants right now so that's all I have found. Thanks bro for your vids. You've been a big help to a beginner planter. And love your Cory vids!

if it's so easy to grow then why did mine die so easy cause I had some & in a tank with a BUNCH of guppies & plenty of light but yet it still DIED on me so what happen??
@OtterCreekAquatics4 жыл бұрын
It all depends really. It's hard to tell without knowing the process that the plant went through, where you got it from, what substrate, were you using fertilizers, etc.
@raisinggoldfishonabudget70582 жыл бұрын
@@OtterCreekAquatics 3 YRS LATER , I just got me some more from LRB to see how it does, I'm letting it float in a basket in a 110 gallon stock tank that has 9 decent size goldfish that I've had for 2 yrs, I've been checking out what other people say on this plant & every 1 says something different, so it's do or die I don't have any co2, or high tech level tanks which is a 75 gal & 110 gallon stock tank, the only "high tech" on them is the filters & lights, & substrate which is black diamond blasting sand course size, I use co-op easy green pump fertilizer & osmosis root tabs.
