Ohhh I’m so glad you described the Beartown series the way you did. I DNF’d Beartown because of the TW. The fact that you said you felt safe in reading it is making me reconsider picking it up again. I loved Anxious People and Beartown would’ve been the second book I picked up by Backman.

Great video. Added Jelicoe Road and Daisy Jones & The Six to my TBR. I have The Book Thief, but have yet to read it. Regarding The Secret History, I think it takes great deal of skill to make the reader care about a group of unlikeable college students who we learn from the beginning were involved in a serious crime. Especially as it is a relatively long book. I will admit I don't know anything about Donna Tartt beyond her writing the book.

One of my favorite books as a kid was Ella Enchanted. Between my sister and I, we wore out one paperback copy and were well on our way to wearing out a 2nd copy.

The book that got me into reading was the fault in our stars. Looking back it now, I realize how odd the characters talk to each other and I don’t like it as much as I used to. It made me sob like a baby, so I did enjoy it when I first read it. It holds a special place in my heart as it was truly the first book in my reading journey

@@tiachu my og fave is coach ukai ( THE YOUNG ONE) bc i love the teacher trope character! and then i also love kuroo again i love the trope of characters who help others!! But fr the ending of the manga felt so full circle and this silly little sports shonen really made a bitch tear up and feel like people can achieve their dreams and goals in whatever form that may be
