He was in many good films from his start to about 1950 or so. The fact that almost all of his films subsequently (and particularly in the 1960's) were appallingly dreadful does not change that fact. YOU may not like his comic persona, but this particular film is a gem to any more balanced spirits toward him...

I met him twice. Once on a flight from Palm Springs (where he lived), and once In Honolulu, when I was out early in the morning. I was walking between hotels, came around a corner, and there he was talking with Loni Anderson. I got to chat with both of them, and he remembered me being his first class flight attendant a few months before. He was so nice. I can’t remember what year it was, but I started flying in 1983, and it wasn’t too long after that.

One of Bob hope best films on his own. I love this and the paleface. Bob was simply brilliant in this film and I watch it every Sunday along with John Wayne film called mclintock as they’re great Sunday afternoon viewing. I never get tired of watching them.
