The Sirui Sniper 56mm F1.2 is a new autofocus lens for the Fujifilm X-Mount and on paper would be perfect for Portraits. In this video I test the Sirui 56mm F1.2 for portraits on my Fujifilm X-T30 and compare it to the Fujifilm XF 56mm F1.2 R. This being one of the first autofocus lenses Sirui has ever made, I am very excited to see where this takes 3rd party offerings for the X-Mount. This has great implications for the competition around Fujifilm's XF 56mm F1.2 R lens and the offerings by Sigma and Viltrox. I use it on the Fujifilm X-T30, but this lens would be a great pairing for the Fujifilm X-Pro 3, Fujifilm X-T5, Fujifilm X-H2, Fujifilm X-E4, and the Fujifilm X-T30 ii.

I also have it and I also love it. Low sharpness+warm colors+chromatic aberrations+1.2bokeh and compression=really characteristic look. I use it on Nikon Z mount. Cheers!

It definitely has some nice character, but it's very subtle character, not that immense swirly bokeh I get on some other lenses. I don't really use Fujifilm for video but I think this would make a really good video lens.

@@futc.photography there are some KZbin videos where creators use snipers series and it looks even better than pictures. 4k video uses only 8megapixels so lack of sharpness is less noticeable than on 20+ megapixels pictures. For me optical flaws on this lens are its adventages, they are not dissruptive and you can't get it anywhere else with autofocus.

did you add grain after de-noise, or was enough natural grain from the high iso? killer shots, love that rgb light might have to get one sometime!

For the "clean" images I added denoising, for the ones with grain I just added grain in Lightroom on top of the noisy picture. Thank you! :)

Thank you! Yes that was filmed on my Sony A7IV, pretty much every recording of me talking into the camera for the last year is with that camera haha, the autofocus is just too good! I appreciate the kind words 😊

I got it from H&M but I don't think they still sell it tbh, it's been out of stock for a while on the website. It's not super breathable I'd say, pretty standard hoodie 😅
