What I love about your videos Roger, is that you always keep a feed. There are a lot of good fishing channels, but it frustrates me that they almost always catch and release. I go fishing cos I love eating fish!

Hi Roger love the video content , here is a tip , buy a dog ball chucka , to throw bait balls in water , works great as you can put sand and bread in scoop and allow you to not get hands in mixture and helps free up not having to clean hands.

There was a warning by the DPI not to use supermarket prawns for bait because of white spot scare.
@matthewcullen1298
@matthewcullen1298 10 ай бұрын
Yes we've had serious disease problems in se Queensland due to people using imported prawns and introducing white spot to our wild prawns. It devastated the prawns and the industry for a while. Please don't use imported prawns for bait. The Mekong Delta river system is one of the most polluted waterways in the world. I refuse to eat prawns caught there.
@TrentRidley
@TrentRidley 10 ай бұрын
I think you're ok to use Australian prawns, but imported are a greater risk. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
@owenli7180
@owenli7180 10 ай бұрын
Biosecurity do advise against using prawns bought from supermarkets or fishmarkets as bait. Even if they are a product of Australia. Thing is, imported prawns are often sold alongside the Australian ones, and the fishmongers are not required to change gloves etc. each time they handle a product (for obvious reasons), so the risk of cross-contamination is still very real.
@matthewcullen1298
@matthewcullen1298 10 ай бұрын
@@owenli7180 that makes a lot of sense. Yeah we don't need our fishing areas contaminated with anymore diseases that we don't have here in our beautiful country.

I use only fresh Pilchard. If they get a bit too soft, I wrap some elastic bait thread around them to secure them.
@AS-pq1rc

@@freddyassalt1190 Aussie Salmon won't care. If they are in the water, they will swallow them up. I use extremely well salted pilchards which are almost like rubber and catch salmon easily. Will save you A LOT of headache, since that thing won't come off the hook unless it's really rough out there.
