I think it would've been possible to adapt even if it wouldn't be "perfect" but I still really like wut they went wit in the anime. I'm so executed for the final volume the cover has me gobsmacked

0:58 The white space denotes a time break between panels, I believe there’s less obvious ones in other chapters

@@aaiknn ohhhh damn I never clocked that before. Do you happen to know which other chapters had this?

@@inspirashamul Quite a number so I'll list the few I remember: Chapter 1 between Adamant letting the papers fly and Morga, Goshe, Phos getting patched up, it's like a small indentation and less obvious as what's shown here. Chapter 2 between Rutile infodumping about Cinnabar and Phos' conscription speech (a horizontal example, the margins are just a bit thicker than normal), then between Phos on the cliff and them getting scraped, then that and them going to draw the onion. Chapter 61 between Cinnabar climbing up and Phos expositing. Then between Cinnabar rejecting the travel request and Phos walking back to school. Then between that and Phos going to fetch the to-be moon gems. Then Phos convincing Cairngorm and the moon gems about to board the ship. The second and third examples are more obvious.

Wow! You are amazing. Thank you again for this information. I see the horizontal time breaks for the Onion (Ch 2) and the talk with Rutile about scraping (Ch 2), The vertical one after the Cliff (Ch 2) and after Kongo picking up the paper (Ch 1). But I will say that none of these really match the break in Chapter 6 (except the Kongo one) as all of them were location breaks while the Ch 6 one is the only time exclusive break because Cinnabar and Diamond are positioned the same before and after the page turn and tbh also continue the same conversation. Maye the more noticeable deviation in the layout is for the comedic timing? Or maybe the awkwardness that Cinnabar feels? I'll check the other ones you've pointed out post Volume 1 later, but this does completely change how I reread the series because it seems like I was overlooking these breaks because of how smooth my reading pace was and completely overlooked it.

@@inspirashamul Ah I see, the first break in 61 should be the most similar one then with no location change. As for how big they are, I was guessing they’d mostly be scaled to suit the other panels, but you might have a point there.
