My Filipina Wife's Family IS DRIVING ME CRAZY - I HAD TO GET AWAY

I moved to the Philippines 15 years ago, when my house was being built we stayed with my wife's family, as soon as I arrived they all started begging me for money, literally everyone,mom,dad,brothers,sisters. Even the kids, after 3 days of this I got so pissed off I moved into a hotel, when my house was finished I built a 7 foot wall around my property, just to keep them out, to this day after 15 years I still don't let my wife's family in my gate

All you have to do is say no, in a firm but nice way, one way is to put away 1000 pesos a month you lend it to the one who ask for money then if someone else ask tell them you cant lend any money because the brother or sister hasn't paid you back once the borrower has paid back the 1000 pesos you lend it to another family member, if you want charge them a extra 100 pesos for a fee never lend more no matter what!

Odette did a number on our Barangay. I used to have neighbors. My wife built our house with an Odette in mind as she lost her house there when she was 7 years old. the house was damaged, the water level got up to 7 feet on the first floor but never got to the second. My ref was floated out a window and ended up in front. most of my furniture was destroyed. It blew out seven windows and scooped out the foundation a little in the front. The seawall did its job and diverted a lot of the storms waves around the house but that destroyed my perimeter wall which was hollowblock instead solid concrete. nobody was hurt or killed but they lost everything including my Tito. He lives in our hose now. I gave him whatever of my clothes that could him and other stuff.

I have the same experience before. but I took the decision I moved from the house because my ladies family was just in the next door and I cannot handle that!! 24 hour that is not something for me! In AC y'all had to watch out for "Stink Foot" and now in Dapa you have to watch out for "Stink Tire" because if you hit one of those deep holes it might rip up your tire...and that would STINK. Hahaha I would take those rough roads and low crime any day over decent roads and high crime. I would put money on it that those houses on stilts have their CR flush right into the sea below. I know someone in Iligan City that said her CR flushes right into the river. As a microbiologist that makes me cringe. Nice motovlog, Brian.

It's just amazing that they don't care about having building codes or having any fire inspections on how they build they homes or shacks. Where I live the local market catches on fire almost every year because the electric wiring and they stack their products wall to wall & all the way to the ceiling making it a firehazerd. But they seem never to change anything so the same thing happens again the following year. It's insane and laughable the same time.

Every one has there opinions we help family. We have a fortnightly budget if family ask and we have spare we give it we dont expect it back , they are family. If you live here you soon understand there struggle to some times have enough to eat. Three thousand peso a month payment for new kawasaki 125 for brother en in law is quiet durable.

But they only last a minute while they are passin. Like that idea, each street has a speciality. yeah in the barangay i may have seen po po twice. once when a neighbor and his son got into a fight which quickly dragged most of my family members into it. My wife dragged me into the house LOL. Po Po came through in the wagon and rounded everyone up and took em to the precinto. They brought everyone back except the father who they kept overnight. We bought the Sons ducks so he would have enough money for him and his mother to leave and go to Manila. The Father came the day after to an empty house. its a small community so yeah the crime rate is almost non-existent.
