I have both the 2018 Accord 2.0T and a 2021 Mazda 6 Signature. The Mazda is made to a much higher standard than the Honda. Everywhere you look inside and outside, the Mazda seems like a higher quality product. Even the trunk area is just nicer and more premium in the Mazda. The rails that the seats move forward and backwards on are cheap looking on the Honda but nice on the Mazda. All the little things are nicer on the Mazda, the trunk even has a grab handle on the inside for closing the trunk. The pros of the Honda is the larger trunk and more rear legroom and that 10 speed transmission…..and the 2.0T engine is better than the Mazda’s I feel like. It revs so smoothly and feels so powerful. Overall, I prefer the Mazda.

Hands down one of the best, if not the best looking family sedan out there. I was going to buy one a couple of years ago but the lack of interior space made me decide to go for an accord. I disagree, today's sedans are already way bigger than they were 10+ years ago, so why do they need to be bigger? I mean today's Civics are bigger than the Accords of the 90s. It's ridiculous. More size and weight detracts from handling and outward vision.

Also, Mazda did a great job keeping it updated through the years with HUD, cooled seats, Wireless CarPlay etc. You can’t even get some of that on brand new some cars costing double what this costs (looking at Tesla & Infiniti). I’m glad they only made it for one model year. It’ll be a rare sporty and economical find years from now when all manufacturers switch to making SUVs. I had the pleasure of owning this car briefly before returning back to school full time and having to get something more affordable. It was my favorite vehicle I’ve driven to date after being in VW’s, Audis, Hondas, Toyotas, Lexus and a BMW 3 series (a lot of test drives and rentals, most of which occurred during owning my VW.. go figure). The 6 Turbo was.. a love story on wheels. It was the fastest, but one of the most thrilling. Not even just for a 4 door family car but I’d say it was a sports sedan at an affordable price. It handled beautifully and felt planted. The power delivery was flawless and was always ready to burn some rubber or pass with ease. It’s truly sad to see such an amazingly engineered vehicle be put to rest. If the rumors are true it may come back as a RWD sedan in the next couple years. However, seeing this car get the chop hurts my heart quite a bit. It’s one of the only cars I’ve had a love for.

The Mazda6 with the 6 speed manual was a dream when it was offered. The 2.5T is great; however, AWD isn’t possible with the current chassis design which is a bummer. I’ll have to disagree on the wireless charging and touch screen. Wireless charging that I’ve used in multiple vehicles is slow and doesn’t always activate. It warms the phone nicely though. The infotainment rotary knob is simple to use and allows the driver to keep his/her eyes on the road which is why they haven’t gone touch screen.

"you're looking at a living dinosaur...." as a man of "a certain age", that's probably why I bought one this summer. First new car that I bought in 15 years, and yes I did get a deal on it. Guess there's a benefit to being a dinosaur buying an aptly jurassic car. Mine is a touring (non turbo) model, and frankly I'm OK with that. I'm the kind of person that tends to hang on to a car for a long time and the thought that the engine won't be under that kind of stress works for me. To be sure, I'm a recovering motorhead, so Mazda was always on my radar as a company that builds a driver's car. Even with the base engine, this is indeed a driver's car. I've owned a few performance cars over the years and I would put this one at the top of the list in terms of handling. The base engine/trans isn't a dog either...for virtually every kind of driving the powertrain will deliver what you need when you need it. In the current world, there's something to be said for MPG as well. You will get 40 on the highway at speeds of 70 + and 30 around town if you're not heavy at the lights. It's not Camry mileage, but this looks and feels better. When you're driving it, you're DRIVING.

As a 2017 Mazda CX-9 Signature owner I was recently faced with buying a new car. My CX-9 started having some minor electronic issues and had 80,000 miles on her, plus given the recent gas price increases, thanks to our non-legit elected leaders, I decided it was time to make a switch. So I started looking for a high end luxury mid size sedan appointed similarly to my CX-9 (I didn't want to go backwards in terms of comfort, bells and whistles etc.) So, I researched most all of the high end luxury cars, i.e. Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Infinity, Acura, Cadillac, etc. and to my astonishment, I could not find one that came with a comparable level of comfort and luxury as my CX-9 that was not priced up words of $50 to $60k. I'm not talking about base models, I was after the top of the line models. Now I know many of you might say that is what luxury cars go for these day, and I would say that you were "Mostly right". However, after test driving a 2021 Mazda6 (Touring) (I was impressed by the feel and and how it handled, but was disappointed by it's lack of luxury appointments) I decided that I needed to also test drive a Mazda6 Signature (same level as my 9). Once I did that I was sold and my decision was made. The 2021 Mazda6 Signature is a beautifully appointed vehicle. It has essentially the same creature features that my CX-9 had plus more, like ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and some others. It's is really a shame that Mazda discontinued the Mazda6. But hopefully it's replacement, whenever it comes out (2023??) will be even better. By the way I only paid $32.5K for mine which is nearly half of what it would have cost me to get into some of the names. There are only a few new Signatures left on the market, but you can still find one if you look hard enough. I had to Leave south Florida and go to Texas to get mine, but it was a fun drive home. Hope this helps

On a certain day up there in Amherst, It rained, snowed, rained, and then got cold. I always told him to stay on the Major Roads - But like all Kids, They don't listen to their parents. So proceeding Slowly, down a road which had a sharp left Bending turn (there were Boulders lining the curve which opened up to a open field), he hit the Brakes on Black Ice... You can have 20 Wheel Drive, Nothing works on Black Ice - Rubber doesn't mix well with Ice. He hit a Boulder buffering the curve, which sent the Mazda airborn, it flipped over, landing on the roof and Just Missed a Sole Tree in the field !!! Of course, my son had a friend as a passenger in My Car (insured by me too). Both young Men came out Without a Scratch !! The roof crunched, the glass in the windows operated as engineered , breaking Out instead of Into the passengers. That accident spoke Volumes about the safety and quality of this Mazda 6 . I spoke to the Police who arrived om the scene - He was NOT Drinking or Smoking Pot - Black Ice he said. Although he was pretty badly shaken , my wife and I came up the next day of course (we live in Suburbia NY). The seriousness of the accident hit him a Few Days later. Oh, and Thanks to Geico , who were terrific, they settled the claim immediately, totaled the car and I had a check in my hands in a few days for an amount that surprised me. They used comparables to determine the settlement - I think it was more than the Bluebook amount. My son Thank God finished UMASS and became a Special Ed Middle school Teacher in Long Island. My 2014 with only 134k is still reliable only thing I've change was the battery and the drive belt and tensioner that cost me for the drive belt and tensioner was $110 and $90 for the interstate battery . I guess my mazda was built in Japan since the Vin # starts with a J meaning made in Japan 😍🤗

Every man driver, I had not heard that Mazda would not be renewing the Mazda 6 for 2022. That makes me a little sad, because I have had my first Mazda for the last 2 years, a 2015 Mazda 6 with a manual transmission. I absolutely love it. I think Mazda made a mistake when they pulled back the manual I made it nothing but automatic only. But that's just my opinion. Well, I'll hold on to it anyway who knows it may go up in value. At least it's always going to be valuable to me.

That’s disappointing. I would have gotten rid of the 3 for sedan. And kept the 6. The 6 is still an attractive vehicle. Maybe provide an impressive hybrid that beats Camry and Accord. That should’ve been done years agoZ Than wait till everyone goes electric…

My 2016 Mazda 6 has 70k miles and has gone through 4 OEM batteries, valve cover gasket is leaking, hydronic belt tensioner is leaking, had a misfire and had to replace a leaking fuel injector, brakes wear out fast and front rotors warp extremely quick. I wouldn't call that great reliability so far.

No wireless charging or back USBs is really nitpicking in a car with 1,000 other good features. And no touch screen when driving is good for safety. Mazda simply discontinued this due to low sales .. they made an awesome car. Not “keeping up “ with little things wasn’t the reason they sadly ended the model in my opinion. I just think it was sales, despite it being the best midsize sedan out there in my opinion

Never could get to liking the flared humps over the front wheels. Should have made the 3 a hatch only and made the 6 as a bigger version of the current 3 sedan. I would have bought that. I'm pretty sure my next ride will be the CX-50 though. Mazda has some unheralded vehicles in their lineup, with more to come...
@TheJc716933 жыл бұрын
Maybe if they invested more into hybrids and PHEVs for their vehicles, the Mazda 6 wouldn't be coming to an end. Their first attempt at an Ev is pathetic. I'm about to get the Camry hybrid but would've gotten a Mazda 6 in a heartbeat if that was offered.
@2004cyrus3 жыл бұрын
Mazda knows their first attempt isn’t for anyone to really buy. They just had to offer one in the USA because our government requires it so they threw something together to meet the requirements but as you may know they sold a large percentage to Toyota so they’ll have the resources to start building long range hybrids for the US market by 2030.
