Marvelous - your hair looks even better! I love all your videos, & have watched you in my 22 month transition to gray..mine is wavy & I'll be cutting most of the dry, blond ends soon. It worked well, to allow the transition naturally, as it gave us LOTS of time to adjust to the change, didn't it? Oh, your hair didn't need "fixing" after the hairdresser 😀😍

Congratulations on your journey’s end. Your hair looks fabulous and I think I like the shorter length. I got my final color cut off in March and I love it. I wouldn’t go back to coloring my hair. Your positive attitude and tips helped so much me along the way. I am 66 now and have gotten many compliments on my gray hair and was even told it makes me look younger. Gray is the color we were meant to have at this stage in our lives, we’ve earned the freedom! Love to all our silver sisters and future silver sisters!

Number one - different strokes for different folks. Some women may not want to go grey and that's fine. Some women in their 20s and 30s are DYING their hair grey! That's fine too. I have always put blonde highlights in and the crown is usually VERY blonde. During covid19 I've let it grow out to my natural light to med brown. And I have a grey streak right where your white one is. When I highlight it you can't even tell it's there. I'm putting a more golden and honey blonde in from now on but the grey is staying. PS You're Gorgeous Renee. 💋

That’s a great length for you, frames your pretty face. I turned grey almost overnight due to a cancer surgery and coma. The decision to stop the coloring madness was very freeing. People come up to me and say they’d pay for my color...lol. Self acceptance is a huge part of the decision and I found you to be a good mentor these last few months. BTW, delighted to say my last CT scan shows cancer free, 8 months! 🌴🌸🌸🌴

Your hair is just beautiful Renee and that's my comment at the start of the vid xxx Betsy is totally correct a dry cut is the best way to deal with curly hair because if you cut it wet you can not see how the individual curls fall and you end up cutting half way up a curl which just creates scruffy bits of hair that jut out at all angles and can never be styled properly. My Mother had curly hair and her hairdresser was Tom Conti's(The famous actor) father who has a salon in Paisley Scotland. I have wavy hair from my fathers side of the family. Final hair do... just stunning Renee xxx You're beautiful Renee xxx It suit you to a tee xxx 😀😊☺

Don't worry about handling shoulder length hair, it's only temporary---by summer you'll have the length you want. In the meantime, the need to clip up your hair is the perfect reason to buy some more pretty clips and hair ornaments ! I'll even bet there are some online tutorials regarding updos.

Stopped coloring my hair a year and a half ago. My hair was short then, and layered, so it grew out rather quickly. I thought I would have a lot more gray, but it is gradaully turning a hair at a time People should keep their mean comments to themselves, Renee. You are a beautiful woman. Your face is lovely and you keep yourself in great shape. BE YOU because YOU are GREAT!!!

Hello Silver Sister! Welcome to the family! I’m 61 and I made the decision to stop coloring my hair 10 yrs ago as my 51st bday was approaching. I have a lot of silver around the front and top of my head. The back is still really dark (naturally dark brown) with sparse silver sprinkled in. The silvers are coming in course and curly. My natural hair was always fine and straight. So its quite the challenge these days for myself and my stylist. People still dont believe I’m 61even with all the silver. They think I’m in my late 40s or early 50s. 😁 I’m ok with that! I smiled when you said you feel free, thats exactly how I felt too. Free from coloring, free from the time and expense it took, free from the lie that I felt I was living with colored hair, free from what society says I’m “supposed” to look like, free from the must “look younger” trap. Seeing myself as I am and accepting myself. I admit though, in the first couple of yrs, as more and more silver came in, I asked myself if I was making the right decision. I questioned myself and had doubts, a lot. Then Id think about how much I hated coloring my hair and the doubts would leave. Most of the comments I receive are positive. I get a lot of positive comments from younger 20 somethings. They tell me they dont want to color their hair and hope they have the courage to leave it natural. I’ve had questions about whether or not my color is natural or did I have it “colored” like this, lol thats always amusing to me. Why would I color my hair gray? I too have had women tell me that IF their hair grew in like mine has, they wouldn’t color. But they won’t ever know if they keep coloring it. The only real negative comments are from women who color their hair and tell me they would never stop coloring their hair, they think it looks awful on older women. Well, it’s a personal choice and I’m glad I made this choice. I love your color pattern and your curls. The length after your cut may feel short, but it’s really cute. As I was transitioning my hair (and mindset) I came across a quote about aging gracefully. I dont know who said it, but I loved it. For me, accepting the changes, is accepting who I am. - “Aging gracefully means accepting the changes as they come.”

YAY! You look Maaaa-vaaaa-lous! Thanks for sharing your journey from one silver, curly girl to another. It’s taken me longer than 2yrs because my hair is longer and I chose to keep my length through the process. I only have about 2inches (when I pull the curls straight) left of my old colored bits too. Congrats on your complete transformation. ❤️ I feel free as well. Best thing I’ve even done!

Hey curly silver sister!!!! Cutting off those bottom bits was a tough one for me because my I didn't want to loose my length. Oh my gosh, I'm not used to seeing people in a public setting without a mask. Here in California, we are never supposed to go out without a mask. Only recently did our governor allow indoor hair salon services, but everyone still must wear a mask for everything. I won't lie, it just feels good to see some normalcy and for people to see each other's faces. Though people understand why it is being done, it's so depressing here and even though they are wearing a mask, you can see it in their eyes. But I have to add that you look absolutely awesome Renee! :)

If I cut off all the color now it will be too short for me. Shoulder length is as short as I would want to go. I too like to put my hair in a pony from time to time. Regarding the ones that say you would look younger if you color your hair..they are wrong! Our faces still look the same regardless of the color of our hair. Going gray and short seemed like too much all at once. It felt like it took forever but, like you, I forgot about it after awhile. Yours looks great! It is the most freeing and life-simplifying thing I've done for myself.

Congratulations! I know it is a great thing! I am so enjoying my natural hair color. My chemo curls are done, I had corkscrews on the ends and had it trimmed about 3 weeks ago, it is now very wavy, and very thick. It is wonderful! Yay for you! You just came up with a new shirt design, Hey, Silver Sisters! Love it!

Hi there Renee, your hair is looking great .. so healthy and bouncy. When my grey hairs started appearing they came in regularly spaced all over my head, sprinkled throughout my almost black natural colour. It looked really pretty and I loved it. As time went on and the greys became more dominant, I started losing colour in my complexion which happens as you get on in years. My answer has been to have my hairdresser do very fine highlights of dark brown, interspersed with lesser highlights of a light brown. The colour mix is beautiful and I still have a lot of grey especially around my temples so I don't look like I'm trying to stay younger than my years. I have this done every 3 months so I don't feel like I'm spending a lot of time getting my hair done. With the reduction of all those bulky curls, you'll be light headed, yeah? Enjoy your new look! Cheers Roz

Congratulations silver beauty! It looks great and it will grow back in no time. You are my inspiration. I stopped coloring my similar curly hair at 25, almost 20 years later and I'm still not coloring my hair. You look so beautiful and I love that you stand up for yourself and beliefs. I feel and think the same. Not silver yet, but I have some growing in.

Congratulations you look so radiant with your silver hair! Thank you for sharing your journey. I been silver for 3 years and it a very good feeling revealing yourself to the world. I felt so much confidence, freedom, and pure joy with myself. The ppl that still dye there hair deprive themselves of the wonderful experience of going gray all the layers and feelings that go along with maturing. Yipeee!!!!

I dyed my hair for about 18 years as pepper and salt at the age of 21. I got last dyed hair cut 2 months ago after 20 months of growing. I am a bit whiter but love how much healthier my hair is looking and softer al natural. I try telling people I paid $1000 for my hair to look like it is 😂 some even believe me. Much love ❤❤❤❤

Been going grey for at least 8 years....and I tell folks as to the grey, I EARNED IT! Challenge for me, with 2a,b,and c waves of greys, white, and brown.....is that my hair is long enough to sit on, and extremely prone to tangling and knots. Your curls and gorgeous silver make me jealous!

Just finished watching your gray hair and purple shampoo videos. I had dyed my hair Light Auburn since 1992!!...In recent years, every Sunday night I would mix a few tablespoons of color and peroxide and just touch up along my hairline, my part and neckline. There would be times when I couldn't find my brand of hair dye and the color and I'd spend Saturday running from the Targets to Walmarts to try and find my color. It was such anxiety when I couldn't find my color and would have to settle on another brand and shade. I retired on Dec. 31, 2016 and was setting in my hair stylists chair January 4th. 2017 waiting for him to lift the color. I knew I would not have the patience to wait for my hair to grow out. My roots appeared to be white and it appeared that I was white/silver from behind my ears to my front hairline. The back was a little more salt and pepper. It took 5 hours for him to lift the color, deep condition it and trim it. But it was over with!!...I felt the same relief that you had been waiting 2 years for!!...my hair was short and he only trimmed maybe a 1/2 inch that day but I too felt lighter...no more anxiety about trying to find my hair color or working about my roots on Sunday night!!...yippee!! Some friends were surprised by my going natural. Some strangers in public would try to politely ask why I didn't dye my hair!!...I told them that I had dyed my hair and it got to the point where I felt I was 65 years old, trying to pretend that I wasn't my real age by coloring my hair. These were usually women...and men...who I could tell by standing there talking to me, had obviously dyed their hair. I really wanted to tell them that their dyed color was too dark for them and in going darker thinking that they looked more youthful, they actually looked more aged!!...but I'd bite my tongue!!...I would often tell them that I felt I needed to be true to myself and with my hair silver/natural, this was who I was and it felt good to not try to pretend that I was something other than a 65 year old woman!!...it was my journey for me to go silver and it was their journey if they wanted to try to cover their's. I have also had women say that they would stop coloring if they knew their hair would be like my silver/white color and that they love the color of my hair on me, but they wouldn't like it on themselves!!...I have also surprised women who have said "well it's too bad you went gray so young!"...I would tell them my age and they would respond that they though I was in my 50s!!...I rest my case!! Now I'm 69...Will be 70 in January. I just switched to Olaplex purple Shampoo. I had used Clairol Silver Lights but found it to leave my hair on the dry side and when I first went silver, I didn't know any better so used it evrytime I Shampoo my hair and in 3 days my hair was talking on a mauve shade!!...AI love your hair and would give anything to have your curls. Mine is almost stick straight so I keep it kind of in a pixie bob type style which is easy!!...really appreciated your videos explaining your journey and process as you told the truth!!...just wanted to reach out and let you know that I agreed with what you said and have had similar experiences in public...hope you are doing well and that your husband is 100% recovered. Hugs to those 2 adorable furbabies!!...take care and keep the videos coming!!

Congratulations - a big day indeed! Your hair looks so great and I love the length on you. Your videos are my favorite transition to gray. I found you after pandemic started and I was thinking of not dying my hair anymore. March 2020 was my last dye, and I have committed. October was a 2 year anniversary of growing all layers out of my hair (including bangs). Yesterday I had 6" cut off the length and I am loving the color of my grey and the new texture of my hair. You are right, it's freeing and you feel like your authentic self. Thank you for sharing your journey - and your life and family. So enjoyable!

I guess if people weren't so vocal with their opinions, the bad ones, a lot of the fear would be gone for women on this journey (I think overall I wish people would be kinder). I have no idea how my grey will turn out. My fears are looking older than my age (not ageing, just older than I really am), and other peoples negativity.. I'm a quiet, shy person, easily upset.. I wish I wasn't those things, but I still worry I will be upset by other ppl.. Esp now, I just can't be doing with it. I'm so happy you're happy. 2 years is a long time.. I'm at the beginning, so two weeks is feeling like an eon lol I love your attitude and the way you've gone into it. Your hair is beautiful X
