Very nice video and very nice run. Amazing what you have achieved after what happened with your leg. I had today my 16 km run and I had enough. This year I want to try a Marathon, so far I made halfmaratons only, so that run is currently on my schedule. I wish you all the best on the London Marathon. You will make it, I am sure. I am surprised a little bit with Apple watch, but I had similar situation with my Garmin F7. I had a 10 km trail run and my Garmin tracked only 9 km. Sometimes it happenes. Greating from Slovakia.

This is just what I needed, man. I’m training for a smaller marathon at the end of the year (10K), but it’s been ages since I’ve done long distance. Loved the realistic prep sequence too! For me it’s just been standardized hot-water Tongkat Ali root capsules, which have been a godsend for getting back into longer runs, and a big black coffee. It’s been great for endurance and recovery in particular. Have upped my dose to 400mg 2 hours before I train now and I’m making better time, sadly not quite there yet. Wishing you all the best for your London Marathon run and I hope I can get there too one day.

I don't think I'm anywhere near your level of stamina, haha, but I did just finish a 5k run recently. It took me a while, and I'll admit I had to walk it off towards the end because I was about to faint. Can you tell me what brand of Tongkat Ali you're using? I'm looking to add some supplements to my routine, and a lot of the folks I run with have been telling me it helps with recovery and gives you an energy boost.

You can have the Stryd footpod broadcast to your Garmin with Ant+, and to the AW via Bluetooth, and that way you really only need to worry about GPS for map tracing post run. I long run and race with 2 watches. Mostly due to having the Garmin give me 1k splits (since I hydrate/fuel every KM) and the Garmin has a nice livetracker which my spouse loves. But I really use the AW for all my realtime data, and the Stryd integration with AW is amazing with audible alerts to your headphones so you can stay within the power band targets you want to be in. Reducing the need to look at the watch most of the time.

The Garmin HR monitor is pretty much toast now, because replacing the battery causes the rubber o-ring to get damaged, and that makes the unit done for. Also, a dump of 2500-4000mg sodium and electrolytes 60-90 min before a big effort helps increase blood volume and will help with blood flow during the run.
@ShervinShares7 ай бұрын
Woahhh that’s a ton of sodium. I recently replaced my battery and it still works

Hi Shervin - I think your content is great and your opinions on tech have driven a few purchases but what I can’t see anywhere is a breakdown of your training program. How are you building muscle and putting in marathon training miles? How is your gym splits? Are you skipping leg day? How many runs per week? What kind of runs? Are there general training principals you are following from others I can follow?

Good run! I just wonder if you're going to race the actual marathon shirtless? It helps to train with conditions as close to the race day as possible. Long runs with shirts are different because of the chaffing. You learn how to deal with them (I use tape and vaseline). If that was your easy run, I'm sure you're gonna have a decent time in London!

Nice work! I think an interesting video would be some true barefoot drills on harder surfaces (pavement) or on a TrueForm machine. I think both of those would help you overcome your over-stride. Because you said your knees still hurt. That's almost completely due to over-stride! Fun hack, though-keeping your elbows back and hands around your nips will help keep your feet from swinging toward. It's a weird balance thing that the feet rarely want to come out further than the hands.

Now im going back zone 2 and 3 this spring summer and try hit 55-60 miles for next 4-5 months. I was gonna ask u cause i also do compound lifts bench press incline press, squats leg presses 5x5 for strength do u think that slow me down doing upper body lifts like bench press? or no? i was worried it would slow my pace bench pressing heavy 5x5
