My First brand NEW car Ever

I finally purchase my first brand new car. I have never owned a true brand new vehicle. The closest thing I owned to new was the 2016 f350 platinum dually. That was back in 2017 , so it was only a year old. But now , I have the brand new 2023 rav4 hybrid.

Congrats on your purchase, I would strongly recommend you don't follow Toyotas recommendation of 10,000 miles oil change intervals. Go for oil changes every 5,000 miles if you plan on keeping the car for a long time. I am a Toyota technician, if you have any questions about anything feel free to ask me.

I always felt like 5k was even to much I remember this lady had a g37 and I had to do plugs,valve cover gaskets and coil packs and her engine was immaculate.I had never seen one this clean I thought it had a new motor. I looked up her service record and she had done her oil changes every 3k miles and never miss a single one. Most cars I’ve seen don’t hit the 200k mark with 10k oil changes. Some of the old heads say after the 50k mark that the interval should be dropped to 3k-5k And I think hybrids have a problem with moisture accumulating in the oil but that was mostly the Kia/Hyundai we had to service

I would of bought a slightly used Volvo XC90. That's the ultimate dad vehicle. It has tons of safety features and plenty of capacity to tow things. I wouldn't of suggested an fd or something stupid. I would of bought a good used car top of its class which someone has already took the depreciation hit on

I work at a Toyota dealership as a technician and convinced my mom to get a brand new Rav 4 hybrid, they are great and I constantly see older folks coming in getting mid 40s mpg average

I’ve always been a Toyota fan boy but before we got her into a Lexus LX, my wife had every single generation of the CRV and they’re always miles ahead of a comparable RAV4, particularly on the interior feature and creature comforts. I mean, your rav4 looks like a keyed start and doesn’t even have a leather steering wheel in 2023.

idk how it is with the rav4 le but camry le hybrid has a lithium battery and my fiances LE hybrid camry gets 50-53mpg versus my xle hybrid camry gets 41-45 highway

Great car. 1 of the best at this price point. My family has the 2022 rav4 hybrid. A lot of space, lane keep assist + radar cruise control, you can literally throw on a movie on the highway while the car drives itself and gets great mpg. Also have a Camry hybrid from 2012, bought brand new, pushing 160k miles, never had a single issue, first time changing brake pads because of regenerative breaking. You’ll enjoy the car, congrats man
