@@GoodBlokeOutdoors yeah it is - I wasn’t camping but I was driving over to the lakes across the A66 (in my old Volvo v50) - only got as far as brough - the weather was pants but I didn’t care and I switched on my rear fogs- electrics must’ve been faulty and it blew the alternator. Waited for recovery and then came straight home- was planning on climbing the Dodds via Fisher Wife Rake. Been up that area since but never by that route. I think if I’d been going up for a week given that I’m only 2hours max away I would’ve gone straight back up. You definitely had the right idea and made the best of it

I've got a 19 year old Renault Kangoo 4x4 MPV she passed her M.O.T last week costing me £250 that includes mot fees and service and back brakes doing. She's got 157000 miles on her still going strong. Just come back on a wild van camp in snowdonia . She didn't miss a beat.

Aye really lucky with the spot, i’m with the RAC but they said its not something they can fix roadside without diagnosing the issue first, so they offered to take me home or to a garage but with it being late afternoon I didn’t want to end up stuck outside a garage until the following day. If it would have happened on last day of the trip id got RAC to just take me home Thanks for watching mate.

id say that was a win for one reason - timing belt going whilst driving is bad juju ( dont know if the xc90 has belt or chain). How you enjoying the motor on hte drives?

It was just the aux belt mate but with these they are known for snapping and taking out the timing belt at the same time! So yeah I was lucky I was on idleing!

Haha - i've been there before! Being a long standing Land Rover product owner I am well versed in belt failures and waiting for repairs!! Also recognised most of the start of your journey - A650 out of Bratford, A65 over and then join the M6 at J36 (10 minutes from where I live) the one depressing part of this vid was the amount of rubbish on the side of the loch - mate, plastic bags full of peoples crap and burnt out disposable barbeques - why go to one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland and leave your sh1t behind you!!

These slightly newer Volvo's are pretty trash anyway. Nothing like the old ones.. get yourself an old 740 or something. Newer Volvo's can run well but the maintenance is constant and expensive
