A woman is a ticket seller in front of Wat Arun She acted very obnoxiously. As I am a Thai person I apologize to both of you for having to deal with such terrible officials 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

We were shocked but never judge the nation by the behaviour of one person 😇 The temple was beautiful and other people working there really nice though!
The ticket woman at Wat Arun is unbelievable. I'm calling the temple right now.

i had a similar experience at the wat arun ticketing booth too but from the other entrance. while it didn’t completely ruin the experience for me, i think such a beautiful & iconic temple deserves a good trained customer service staff.

FYI, Actually most Thai-Chinese here like myself speak perfect Thai and don’t speak Chinese anymore as we have been here for generations and are completely integrated into Thai culture though some old people might also be able to speak both Thai and Chinese (mostly Teochew).

that’s interesting! so usually if someone were to ask you about your race/ethnicity, do you just say you’re Thai or Thai-Chinese?
@patrixius153610 ай бұрын
@@Monterat-yw9nm If someone from other countries want to know my detailed ethnicity then I would say I’m Thai-Chinese, but I generally don’t get asked about that often here as races have almost no importance in Thai society and I generally count myself a Thai as Thai-Chinese are the largest minority here and are absorbed into Thai society(although we still preserve some Chinese traditions like celebrating Chinese new years).

There is Bangkok Art and Culture Centre which very near MBK Centre. It's an interesting place you should visit. Then you can use the sky walk from there to see the beautiful Christmas Decoration along the way to Paragon Dept. Store, Siam Center, Central World and Central Childlom which connect to Central Embassy Store. It would be great if you stay in Bangkok till end of the year as we have the New Year's countdown in many places such as Icon Siam, Central World , Asiatic, etc. You can watch a spectacular firework both in the city and by Chao Phraya River.

Please be careful when you cross the streets. Always look before you cross. Cars and motorbikes in Bangkok, most of the time, won't stop or slow down for ppl and they won't go around you either. Even the car in the first lane stop for you to cross, the one in the next might not. When it seems like a one-way street, it's not always is. Always look left and right before crossing even when it's green light for pedestrian. Have fun and Be safe :D

I understand you about the photo thing in the temples during tourist rush hour. But i look at it differently, i dont assume people dont care about the temple and are just there for a fashion shoot or to "brag" to friends. I look at it this way, these are unique spectacular landmarks most people there only see once in their lives. It honors the temple that all these people all over the world are swarming to see it, and to immortalize it with a photo (or ten). It's not disrespectful, it's reverence. It also pays for the temple to keep being restored. And every single photo or video, is free advertising for others to visit as well (and keep paying for its upkeep and restoration). That's a positive in my book, rather than, like so many ruins from the ancient world, it laying dormant and forgotten until it falls completely into disrepair. You can go there at 8am and there are barely any tourists there. Also i think you might get a slightly different reaction than other people, because they might think "here comes the vlogger with his camera and doesnt care about our photos, he just barges on through thinking he's priority and just wants to record a video for the views and clicks, typical tourist not caring about the history". Of course that is not true, you're a really nice guy. But my point is, just as you might assume the worst about them, they might assume the worst about you, and then give a nasty glance. Better to just live and let live.

Hi, you definitely have changed my perspective on how I look at that day now 👏👏 Thank you for sharing! It sometimes frustrates me when there’s a nice place and you cannot fully capture it because there’s so many people having these photo sessions - it’s definitely better to just let it go and accept how it is.
