I developed a stompbox amp/processor that they'd have to call "Ampero Zero" because it uses a virtual touch interface projected onto a piece of plastic, like a teleprompter. Someday I'll make the most compelling product blurb ever and finally get funded lol

Y'know what would make the world much better, and I really hope is a thing soon? A standardised amp profile format. If you could put the same file in this or a Kemper or a Quad Cortex or whatever else and the only difference was the interface, form factor, build quality etc. I mean, I kinda doubt it'll become a thing for commercial reasons: it's just not in a company's interests to let another basically steal their selling point of.a large library of profiles. Which is a shame.

There's one aspect where the original Ampero was better than the 2 stomp. At least when the stomp was released it had much higher latency than the Ampero when I tested both at a music store. Like, it was really noticeable. BTW, your quick and dirty camera setup looked sweet!
@TaylorDanley Жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! I've never noticed any latency with anything. I think I might be numb to it because people mention latency with effects units all the time, and I can never tell.

Where can i find the info that the mini is actually the small version of the 1st generation ampero? i thought it's just a small version of the ampero II, it doesn't make sense that they're using the old tech. when i say tech i mean the sound modeling, not the GUI

Thank you for doing this review. I was just wondering about this thing as I just saw one. Exactly one on Reverb for sale. I like that you can use a standard pedal board power supply and that it's so small.. Love that.. I also like the high gain tones you were getting for sure. Technology is so great now. When I was a kid I would have given anything for something like this.. It sounds good to me.. I love how small it is too.. One could use it for amps and stuff and just add a couple other things on your pedal board and you could record and gig going direct and be set.. Great price too! Thanks brother. Have a great day man!

Have you ever noticed the original Ampero changes tones after you exit the tuner? Am I having a stroke and forgetting it doing this? I literally need to set my tones for post tuner, then every time I turn on the pedal, tune first or else and the switch to post tuner. It gets much louder and has more top end. Perhaps it's something in global settings? So weird
@TaylorDanley Жыл бұрын

Cool new vid Taylor. You’re always on top the new stuff man. Quick question. Can u stack overdrives on the mini and ampero II? Keep up the great work and thanks for your responses in the past.
@TaylorDanley Жыл бұрын
So with the OG ampero, you are more limited because you have pre-assigned blocks. But I believe you have 2 that can be used for distortion/od pedals. In the Ampero 2 you have blocks that you can assign whatever you want to.
@trampasnewberry2626 Жыл бұрын
After some recent updates you can stack drives on the original Ampero. You can also move all the blocks in any order. I move the spring reverb before the amp block on clean tones to tame the bright/brittleness.

It pretty much sounds like ass. But at a price lower than most high-end single function pedals, it is great. When I was a kid, my "practice" amp was a 10 watt Peavey Rage, that sounded like refried dog shit, served cold on a paper plate. Having a unit like this that you can just slap on some headphones, have all the effects, and even a crappy drum machine, probably would have coaxed out a lot more inspiration to practice, and write. Along with learning how to integrate effects, eq's, and signal routing. At its price and ability, I think it serves its place in the market very well.
