I was a ranger at Acadia for a summer season a few years back, if you like day hiking its one of the best places on the east coast! All those mountains on the left on your final brought a smile to my face, I have been to the top of all of them on Mt. Desert island, stunning park and you definitely need a couple days minimum to experience it!

Glad I watched this video. The Squadron that the Harrier is with is a squadron I was in back in the 1970's when we had the A-4 Super M's. It brought back a lot memories. Left Yuma, Az., went to Iwakuni, Jp., left there to Cherry Point, NC. Two major Trans Pac's in a year.

Foreshortened forefinger @1:32! Acadia is a great family trip--there's great climbing that's strenuous and rewarding but not technical. The tricky bits have rebar ladder rungs embedded in the granite. Great bike rides too.

"Runway perspective". Ha, ha. First time I've heard that used in all the aviation videos I watch, but I experienced it years ago in my early training (1966). My home airport at the time was OPF, and the runway we used most was 9R/27L, which was 8,000' long and, as I recall, about 150" wide. It looked like landing and taking off on the Turnpike. OPF was far too busy to use for touch and goes (busiest airport in the world at that time--you can look it up). So, we'd head up to HWO (North Perry, and about ½ mile from my house). Perry was also a former AAF field (as were most in Florida) and it had a wagon wheel runway arrangement, unlike the parallel runways at OPF. There was a circular taxiway around the perimeter, connecting all four runways (9/27, 18/36, 15/33, 4/22), all about 3,500' long and 300+' wide. After all that 8000x150 asphalt, when I first glimpsed HWO's arrangement I thought, "how in the hell will I be able to land on that postage stamp?" And this was in a Cessna 150. You could land three times in a 150 on that much pavement. So, all in all, that runway width advisory is a very useful item, particularly in an airplane that might easily use 2/3s of the tarmac.

In your shot of the harbor down town, the white hull 3 masted schooner at the pier behind you appears to be the VICTORY CHIMES. Identifiable by the three mast of equal height, which is unusual. Two interesting things about that ship - its on the Maine state quarter of the US state quarter series and it was once owned by Domino's Pizza who renamed her DOMINO EFFECT, she had several fluke accidents and they sold it, the new owners returned the name to VICTORY CHIMES and the accidents stopped...

Ahhh, ya went ta Baaah Haaabaaaah! 👍😁 That used to be an annual ritual with my mom, dad, and younger brother. We'd make the 6 hour drive up there from central MA in the '84 Ramcharger towing the Prowler camper, and stay at Bar Harbor Scenic Campground. Low-bush blueberries everywhere. You have to do Acadia - swim in the 54° water (did it as a kid, but you'd have to pay me 6 figures to do it now, LOL - makes every part of your body HURT!!), and see the sunrise hit the very first part of the USA every morning there on the mountain (it's a mountain to us Northeasterners). Watch out for Puffins on the flight out! 😁 Great shots of that weird double cloud layer there - that was great! Thanks Shaun! I'll be looking for part II since I'm so far behind on videos this month. 👍

Question from a non pilot. I know pilots are very well trained, but when you regularly fly two different airframes what's the chances a pilot in a urgent emergency situation could apply the wrong action. Like take emergency action for the Gulfstream but your in the Hawker?

That's a good question. Fortunately, most situations will require the same response from the pilot in emergency situations. But furthermore, we always consult the checklist
